Chemical analysis of the water’s samples

What we analyse: The pH value of the water1.The pH value is very decisive for the assessment of water. The scale of possible pH values ranges from pH 0 (extremely acidic) to pH 14 (extremely basic). In the middle of the pH scale is the neutral point at a pH value of 7. In an ideal case the pH value of clean water should range around pH 7.Every change in pH by one unit means 10 times more or less acid’s concentration.2. The pH is influenced by temperature, rocks, photosynthesis and human activities.3. The pH is important as plants and animals have their own pH value range and they have low tolerance to changes

The pH value of the water

0-6,5 : acidic region

6,5-7,5: neutral region

8-14: basic region

6-8: Limits preference for living in freshwater fish.

6,5-8,5: Drinking Water Regulations for EC

6,5-8,4:Desired limits for irrigation water.

What we analyse:

-3 :

1. come mainly from excessive pollution of agricultural crops, raw sewage and atmospheric precipitation .2.In excessive quantities cause eutrophication of water.

The Nitrate salts NO

If it enter in the body of young children in large quantities or for long periods, causing disease.3. Allowable limits for drinking water: 25-50mg/lt

Page 9: Water examination

What we analyse:

2 : 1. derived from the decomposition of dead organisms, sewage, fertilizers, industrial waste and food preservatives.2. In excessive concentrations are toxic to humans

The Nitrite Salts NO

and cause suffocation of organisms.3.Allowable limits for drinking water : less than 0,1mg/lt

1. derived from erosion of phosphate rocks, rain, throwing manure, industrial waste, detergents, and when the biological cleaning not working properly.2.cause eutrophicatio
