• GWP Africa covers all five Africa Sub-regions, works closely with RECs (SADC, ECOWAS, ECCAS, IGAD/EAC)

• Since 2011, GWP Africa implemented climate related commitments in the AU Heads of state 2008 Sharm el Sheik Declaration on water and Sanitation through the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW).

• Currently supports 18 African countries on water and climate resilience, and five Transboundary River Basins

• Mobilised Euro 20 million in project preparation with Infrastructure Consortium for Africa(ICA) and AfDB

• Reports progress on climate resilience to the AU summit annually through AMCOW
