Just a couple of weeks ago, we cut the first piece of steel for our newest ship, Seven Seas Explorer at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy. This is an important milestone as it signifies the official start of construction, and brings us a step closer to fulfilling our dream of creating the most luxurious ship ever built. Seven Seas Explorer will provide our guests with another exciting option for exploring the world with Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ special brand of all-inclusive luxury, joining Seven Seas Voyager, Mariner and Navigator. Since we’re building a ship that will be at the pinnacle of luxury, it was fitting that the first piece of steel cut will serve as the foundation for an opulent, one-of-a-kind owner’s suite that will debut on Seven Seas Explorer. This lavish suite is a passion project of our chairman and CEO, Frank Del Rio, as it will set the tone for the extraordinary degree of elegance and style found throughout the ship. Seven Seas Explorer will be the largest ship in the fleet at 54,000 gross-registered tons, but will only carry 750-guests, allowing us to proclaim one of the highest space ratios and staff-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry. We know many guests are asking you about the new ship and we will have more details to share with you this upcoming January, when we prepare to open reservations for Seven Seas Explorer’s inaugural season. As summer comes to a close, we want to thank you again for making our guests’ summer vacation with Regent Seven Seas Cruises an experience they will always remember and cherish. Dear team,

this is an exciting period of time here at Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Seven Seas Mariner officers, staff, and crew experienced once again another mile stone as the philippines celebrated its 116th independence Day onboard. Captain Felice patruno and General Manager Michael Coghlan, and other senior officers graced the event, reminding everyone of the importance of the hard work and being away from family and friends.Filipino crew members worked hand in hand (headed by luke Bergado, Destinations Manager) and proudly presented their traditional Filipino food, National Anthem, and National Dance called “tinikling” – highlighting this year’s them “it’s More Fun in the philippines.” live band in the crew bar echoed by playing original Filipino music for the entire crew members. it was truly a memorable event and will always be part of the ever growing history onboard the Seven Seas Mariner.

TPG EVENTit was a glorious day! the sun was shining the birds were singing as the Seven Seas Navigator weaved its way through the ice bergs towards hubbard Glacier. our titanium, platinum and Gold Guests were treated to a private viewing on their own deck accompanied by a breakfast selection of culinary treats.

marinernaViGator A great and fun gathering under the hot tuscan sun while in livorno, italy was organized by Crew Welfare and

F&B team for all the crew onboard the Mariner. Food, drinks, and music were part of the festivities located on open deck 7 FWD. We became the envy of all the ships docked around us at the port. excellent memories to carry forward.

Mariner’s Fire team, under the professional lead of Abhi Kumar (Safety officer), participated in a fire safety drill with a Barcelona Fire engine Brigade, during our port-of-call in Barcelona, May 29 20014. Safety and fire prevention as always is our top priority on board.

Navigators’ Fantastic Team 99Anyone who has worked on ships that frequent the American coast has heard of the dreaded uSph inspections…. For those of you who are yet to experience this event…..here is a ‘heads up’.. Ships docking at u.S. ports receive surprise inspections that focus on sanitation, food han-dling and storage, cleanliness of galleys, pantries and provision areas and the temperatures of fridges, freezers and food items twice a year and are graded on a 100-point scale. Anything below 86 is considered to be a failed result. Failure of a uSph inspection has severe ramifications for the ship. So, when the ship is due for a uSph inspection, it’s ‘all hands on deck’ and everybody is busy cleaning, checking, cleaning and checking again!!!!!!our surprise inspection was a complete surprise when the inspectors arrived on our gangway just after arrival in Skagway on a Sunday morning. the inspectors had flown in especially to inspect our ship ………but we were ready!!!!!!An in-depth 7 hour inspection ensued but the fantastic crew of the Regent Navigator achieved an overall score of 99 losing just one point!!!!!! Considering that the average uSph scores for the year so far in 2014 is 95, Navigator joins a small group of cruise ships who managed to achieve a score in excess of 98…….no mean feat!!!!

Congratulations to our amazing crew who have worked hard to ensure that the Navigator delivers the Regent prod-uct and service and achieve a commendable uSph result!!!

A great crew ‘99’ was definitely in order…..

the Crew activities on board the Voyager for the month of July, were organized by the entertainment Department and Boutique/ Casino. throughout this time a number of great events were held and fun was had by all! lots of effort went into the planning, decorating and hosting, and each and every event was well attended, which made for a successful month of fun for the crew. From the costumes and decorations for the ABC party, to the Bingo in the crew mess, along to an acoustic set down in crew bar with Guest lecturer, terry Bishop, and a performance of “Dancing to the hits” onstage in the Constellation theater for the crew, by the Jean Ann Ryan Company. these f eatured events, along with a Night-Shift party, Grilled Cheese night, ice Cream Social and the light-nights of Norway, made for a great atmosphere around the ship and the crew. Whilst we are all away from home, working hard doing what we love, it’s a wonderful thing to have a great life as a crew member and to build relationships with those who work around us.
