Wavin offers a choice of two polyethylene pipes:

MEDIUM DENSITY POLYETHYLENE PE 80 (MDPE) OR WAVINSUREThe WavinSure range is available for SDR 11 pipein sizes 20mm-315mm for use at pressures up to 12.5 bar and for SDR 17 Pipe in sizes 90mm-315mm for use at pressures up to 8 bar.WavinSure meets the specification WIS 4-32-17.

HIGH PERFORMANCE POLYETHYLENE PE 100 (HPPE) OR WAVINSUPASUREThe WavinSupaSure range is available in sizes90mm-630mm and operating up to a maximumpressure of 16 bar for SDR 11 pipe or 10 bar forSDR 17 pipe. It meets specification WIS-4-32-17.

The benefits of Polyethylene pipes are manifold:

■ Lightweight, strong and flexible

■ Excellent resistance to fatigue and slow crack growth.

■ Coils of 50 and 100 metre lengths are availablein pipe sizes from 90mm to 180mm

■ Economical alternative to replacement assuitable for minimum dig and no dig techniques.

Wavin Aquaforce (PVC-A) is the latest generation in plastic pressurisedpipe. This ‘new kid on the block’ ismanufactured using CPE (ChlorinatedPolyethylene) impact modifier with PVC.Manufactured to British Standard PAS27,Aquaforce offers many advantages overtraditional PVC-U pipes:

■ 5 Pipe Sizes (110mm-315mm) and 4 PressureRatings (8-16 bar) means that there is afull range to suit most applications

■ Increased material toughness ensures that there is greater impact strength and resistance to slow crack growth
