WAYMAKER 2020 VBS DAY 1: AMAZING CREATOR "Christ was there before anything was made. And all things continue because of him." Col 1:17 ICB SCAVENGER HUNT Find something in your house that reminds you of each day of creation. DAY 1: light DAY 2: the sky DAY 3: dry land, seas, plants and trees DAY 4: sun, moon and stars DAY 5: creatures that live in the sea and creatures that fly DAY 6: animals that live on the land and finally humans, made in the image of God DAY 7: God rested FAMILY PHOTO WALK As you walk together throughout your neighborhood, see how many photos you can take of different things that our amazing creator created. FAMILY DEVOTIONAL Read Genesis 1:1-2 God was here from the VERY beginning of everything. The Bible says the Spirit of God was over the water, and then He spoke everything into existence. ASK: What do you think we can learn about God by knowing all He had to do was speak and everything was created? (Example answers- he is powerful, creative, sovereign, ruler over all) ASK: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you want to go? Questions to ask during the week: ● What did you learn in VBS today? ● What was your favorite segment? What did you like about it? ● What is something you know is true about God? CHECK THIS OUT – THE POWER OF GOD Materials: plate, milk, food coloring, dish soap, q-tip/cotton ball Directions: 1. Pour a little bit of milk to fill the plate 2. Drop food coloring of your choice 3. Dip the cotton ball or q-tip into dish soap 4. Place the dish soap-soaked cotton ball/q-tip and watch what happens! 5. Talk about how powerful the dish soap was to put it all in motion – that is what God did when he SPOKE everything into creation!
