Location New Radnor village, originally the county town of Radnorshire, stands on the slopes of Knowle Hill below the remains of 11th Century Radnor Castle. Wayside is situated just below the church and castle and overlooks much of the village. Surrounded by rolling hills and on the Welsh Marches, the area provides excellent walking, and has excellent road and rail communications.

For Sale Wayside, built in 1832, is a Grade II Listed building reputed to have been designed in part by John Nash for the Harpton Court Estate. In the early 1900s it was briefly a temperance hotel. It remains the handsome house that it has always been, with its sash and shuttered windows and wisteria across its front elevation. Today it has been fully modernised and refurbished with, in particular, a new kitchen, heating, general repairs and decoration.

There is ample street and on-site parking, with stone steps leading to the front door and its decorative fan light. On three floors, Wayside enjoys stylish Georgian proportions, with lavish mouldings in the principal reception rooms. The Hall, Cloakroom and Kitchen have under-floor heating. The Study has floor to ceiling bookshelves on two walls. The Sitting Room has an elegant fireplace as does the Dining Room which also has a useful cupboard. The Kitchen has a new AGA, a central bar with granite work top and attractive units which house a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, etc. and lit, glass cabinets. French doors open onto the terrace and garden. From the Kitchen, a staircase leads down to the lower ground floor with slate flooring and bespoke oak units housing a washing machine and double sink. Whilst formerly a kitchen, it is now used as a scullery, studio and gym. A stable door leads out to the village street and an archway leads through to a large wine cellar with slate-lined wine bins.
