    EXTRA ACTIVITIES

    1) Drama activity: Transformation

Objective 1:To be able to role- play a dialogue where one of the characters performs a suddenpersonality change at a specific point in the conversation. Objective 2:To explore the possibility of performing different personality aspects in a safeenvironment.

Steps:1. The students work in pairs.2. Give each of them a Character chart (See EA1 Character chart)for them to complete and thuscreate their characters.3. Tell them one student in each pair will be the Jekyll character, that is a character that will suffer asudden personality transformation.4. Let them have some time (15 min) to fill in their Character chart and think of a casual dialogue toperform. (They may set up the conversation in the street, at work, at school, on the bus, in a disco, etc.)5. Tell them that theyll start performing their dialogue and, at a certain point, when you clap yourhands, the Jekyll character will start changing his/her personality and the other character will reactto these changes.6. Let them perform the dialogues in front of their classmates.7. Each student should act out the Jekyll character at least once.8. Variation: You may clap your hands twice (or three times) during the same dialogue. This will makethe activity more dynamic and fun as the Jekyll character will have to transform back and forth manytimes in a short space of time.
