Like the rest of the world, the impact 2020 had on Women’s Council of Realtors has changed the way we communicate, but in some ways, it has made the council more connected than ever before through webinars, virtual meetings and online training. Stepping into the leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic comes with challenges, and as the Ohio Women’s Council President, I am proud that I was able to navigate through and accomplish many milestones. Out of the gate I was faced with budget constraints and unprecedented changes in the way we operate. I am proud that we were able to resolve the issues, and with the National Council at the helm, we were able to blaze forward and create new pathways for ourselves. We completed the winter meeting on January 18 at the Scioto Country Club, which is one of my favorite locations with amazing ambience and food galore. Little did I know that that would be the last face to face meeting in 2020. A huge thank you to Barbara Lach for making all the arrangements for our group to meet there. Then I had to switch gears. Although we were unable to travel to the National and State events, Ohio Women’s Council held their spring meeting on April 26 and fall meeting on September 20, and both were zoom events. We had a fantastic turnout for both. We were able to conduct our governing board business in the morning and hear from great speakers in the afternoon. Thank you to all members who joined in. May 15 on Facebook Live we picked our raffle winners of the 2020 Ohio annual fundraiser with three cash prize awards going to the Toledo Network, Drew Gaebelein of the Northeast Network, and Ann Hunger of the Columbus Network. Thanks to local networks’ support and everyone who participated. The last Region II conference was held on July 13 – 17 at Mackinac Island, Michigan. It was well received with a great agenda and fantastic speakers. I was proud to say that I was the only state president within our Region to attend, along with 7 other Ohio members/officers. It was a beautiful location and wonderful to finally get to meet face to face. Final Message from Your 2020 Ohio President

Like the rest of the world, the impact 2020 had on Women’s Council of Realtors haschanged the way we communicate, but in some ways, it has made the council moreconnected than ever before through webinars, virtual meetings and online training.

Stepping into the leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic comes with challenges, and as the Ohio Women’s Council President, I am proud that I was able to navigatethrough and accomplish many milestones.

Out of the gate I was faced with budget constraints and unprecedented changes in theway we operate. I am proud that we were able to resolve the issues, and with theNational Council at the helm, we were able to blaze forward and create new pathways forourselves.

We completed the winter meeting on January 18 at the Scioto Country Club, which is oneof my favorite locations with amazing ambience and food galore. Little did I know that thatwould be the last face to face meeting in 2020. A huge thank you to Barbara Lach formaking all the arrangements for our group to meet there.

Some of herfavorite things are the movies The Notebook, Bon Jovi, andthe saying ‘are you kidding me’. She would love to meetReese Witherspoon one day. Robyn once had a crazysituation happen at a listing she was taking pictures for andshe moved a tube out of the way, ended up falling in a grinderpump hole, broke a toe and took all the skin off the side of herleg. While she isn’t afraid of much, she is afraid to go snowskiing. Her teachers used to describe her as outgoing, but shecan also be described as thoughtful, generous, and fun.

2021 OfficersROBYN CLARK-SPRAGUE,

If Ivan wasn’t a Realtor andBroker he’d own his Fazoli’s but once thought about being a DECAteacher. Some of his favorites include the movie The Wizard of Oz,Madonna, and saying ‘have a good day’. He has a weakness forsweets and loves watching Tik-Tok, but dislikes bad service and lazypeople. One thing that surprises people about Ivan is that he’s sevenyears sober. However that isn’t the craziest thing you’ll learn abouthim. He actually had a brain tumor at the age of 21 and had to havethree surgeries in a year. His teachers used to describe him ascharismatic but he’s also friendly, outgoing, and passionate.

Shehas two children who are 21 and 19 years old. While sheloves being a Realtor she once thought about being a Nurselike her mom. Like many of us in the industry Denise likes torelax at home with her husband and Cody when she isn’thelping her clients. Her favorite smartphone app is Slydialwhich is a ringless voicemail messaging app. She has aweakness for sweets (I see a theme here with our officers thisyear) but is a bit of a germaphobe. A pet peeve are those whodon’t wash their hands especially during a trying Covid time! One thing that surprises people about Denise is that sheknows Tae Kwon Do, so don’t get on her bad side (kidding). She’s very sincere, trustworthy, and kind. Denise loves towatch any movies on Lifetime, listen to Prince, and say ‘thistoo shall pass’. Some of her favorite things to do are runningand training for races, going to the movies (pre-covid),bowling and traveling. She loves to travel to Myrtle Beach,Miami Beach or anywhere warm with a beach and the ocean.

She loves to take photos and capture memoriesespecially when she’s spending time with family and friends, playing tennis(which she loves), going on nature hikes, reading and traveling. Whiletaking a nature hike one time she was attacked by jay birds because shewalked too close to a tree with a nest of babies! 2021 OfficersDEBBIE STOHL, PRESIDENT

Loving, courageous, and loyal are just three words that describe our new President. Born in St.Paul, Minnesota and raised in White Bear Lake, Minnesota Debbie is no stranger to cold weather.Fun fact: White Bear Lake is where the bar scene in Fargo was filmed at the Lakeside Club whichalso happened to be Debbie's dad's favorite restaurant. Debbie currently lives in Delaware, Ohiowith her son Chris, her mom, and her goofy golden retriever Lexi. She relocated to Ohio 24 yearsago when her son was 3 months old to be closer to family. If she couldn't be a Realtor she'd be alawyer; her mom insists she can out argue anyone. She used to want to be a Nurse but when shewas 13 and a junior volunteer she discovered that blood and gross things were not her fortealthough she did enjoy watching surgeries with the student doctors. Working from home hasallowed her to slow down and hang out with her niece Lauren, bake cookies or get a Mani-pedi.One crazy thing that happened to Debbie was winning a trip to the monster truck worldchampionship in Las Vegas and riding in a truck in the parade; she'd never been to a monster truckshow before this because her brother had always taken her son to them. A big pet peeve is whenagents or photographers leave the toilet seat up in listing photos. However, like our other officersshe has a weakness for sweet things like creme brulee. She loves meditating with the appheadspace; collecting rock, minerals, crystals and gemstones; and loves photography. Her favoritegetaways are to St. John's in the USVI, Mackinac island, Martha's vineyard, and the North shore ofLake Superior. One thing that might surprise you about Debbie is that she belly dances. Some ofher favorites include the movie National treasure or anything action/adventure or historical,Halestorm, Earth, Wind and Fire, and the saying 'it is what it is'. Debbie would have loved to meetFrank Lloyd Wright as she's obsessed with his houses.
