DO WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

My true interest in writing this book is not to promote my own story,

for as intriguing as that might be for my family and friends and

indeed myself, against the backdrop of the deluge of biographies

swamping us these days, this would be just another human endeavor,

which would add little to the overall picture, which in my opinion is as

serious as we have ever faced.

I am not alone in the conviction that the glory of unrepentant Man isshortly coming to an end, and will be replaced by the rule of repentant

and renewed Man under Gods direction.

This is the story that I intend to shout from the house tops, for

surely, this is what should be relevant to all of us today, if my

prognosis is correct!

My aim is to put down a few markers as to the true history of this

world as I now understand it, as credulous and eye-opening as that hasbeen to me personally, and to point to the possible road ahead.

This should be of interest to most people, especially if they are

prepared to consider the unbelievable, and desire to engage in

necessary steps to change the situation should that be required.

If not, I believe sadly their future may be bleak!

In order to achieve this, my aim is to try and bridge the gap betweenthe events of my former years and the present. With the benefit of

this hindsight, to show where the events experienced, now seem to be

heading.

To achieve this, however, I have and shall continue to draw on the

input of others, many of whom have greater experience than myself in

their particular fields, and whose life experience lends a different

but hopefully and helpful perspective.

My method is simply to place the facts before you as I see them,

conscious that I see through a glass darkly. It is for others then to`decide their options, having weighed the evidence.

My experience in the South Wales valleys had deepened my conviction

that God actually existed; further that he was personally interested

in my situation as well as the rest of Mankind, whom He had created,

and was indeed the Counselor who could be trusted with the

problems ahead.

The task now was to establish to my own satisfaction whether theprinciples of life, illustrated in Chapters Two and Three of this book,

found so applicable in solving some intractable problems of Britain,

had a place elsewhere- namely in Europe.

A friend suggested that I might like to visit Caux in Switzerland, the

Headquarters of Moral Re-Armament in Europe.

In the late 1940s, the world was then searching for the framework of

a lasting peace, through a Europe that had been plagued by wars overmany centuries. The secrets now stemming from Caux many felt could

be the key.

Frank Buchman and his colleagues had been given a vision of post-war

Europe, which although seemingly in line with other world leaders such

as Churchill, de Gaul of France, Adenauer of Germany, de Gasperie of

Italy, and Truman, then President of the United States, carried a

very different plan of how to go about it.

While the politicians were mostly considering a mere physical trans-

formation, Buchman, envisioned primarily a spiritually based

solution, firmly established on a change in human nature, based on

the Guidance of God. This was the unique new element injected

into this daunting situation came, especially Germany and her former

allies of Italy and Japan. A successful integration for these nations

into the new world, had to be found

Frank Buchmans unique contribution was clearly spelled out in abroadcast he made at Interlaken called Guidance or Guns.

Many at the time charged Buchman a with being a friend of Hitler.

Although Frank Buchman believed that under God, the vilest character

could be changed, he never met Herr Hitler, befriended him or had

any doubt about the miracle that would be involved in such a process.

Equally, he never shirked this challenge.

Many Gods Professed but only ONE GOD!

People today claim to be guided by God.

Perhaps we should ask ourselves Which God? This is a pertinent

question, for the true God warns us in the Bible that there are manygods and many spirits, and from the chaos and mayhem that so-called

God Guided spirit-filled Man is daily producing, one has to wonder

at the source of our inspiration.

However, as I have tried to point out in the earlier chapters, there is

ONE TRUE GOD, who is so keen to communicate with us that He

sacrificed His Son to clear a direct path to Himself, without any

human intermediaries!

Unlike many theories, the fact is, that I had seen this essentially

simple idea workout not only in my own life but in the lives of people

very different from myself, and I therefore approached this

experiment in Europe with high anticipation.

It was this seemingly impossible vision of a united Europe, based on

the Eternal Laws of our Creator that Frank Buchman courageously set

out to build and in which I was to be privileged to play a very minor

role.

Hindsight again has revealed the pitfalls to such a vision, some ofwhich have been exposed.

The London Headquarters of MRA

First, a friend suggested I spend some time at the London

Headquarters of Moral Re-armament at 45 Berkeley Square.

Clive House, had been the home of Clive of India and had been

purchased by friends of Dr. Buchman from all over the world as his

home, where he could receive his many friends, who saw a united

Europe, consisting of Soverein nations as the key to world peace.

In his book Frank Buchman A Life Garth Lean writes:

When in 1937, the year of King George VI's Coronation, Brown's

Hotel could no longer provide the cut rates negotiated in the

Depression, temporary offices and a flat nearby were taken.

It was not until 1938 that the problem was solved by the purchase of

45 Berkeley Square, as a centre for hospitality and administration.

The house had been the home of Lord Clive of India and its reception

rooms, designed by Sir William Kent and Sir William Chambers, were

ideal for large-scale meetings and entertaining. The Earl of Powys,Lord Clive, agreed to the use of the name 'Clive House', while

regretting that, as far as he knew, the tradition that Lord Clive's

ghost appeared from time to time was without foundation.

(* A 99-year lease of the house was bought for 35,000 and wasthe property of the Oxford Group.)

On Buchman's sixtieth birthday in June 1938, while there was still no

furniture or carpets in the house and nothing but hessian on the walls,

a dinner for 200 was held for him there.

It was an occasion which reflected his years in Britain.

The white-haired Cockney, Tod Sloan, sat next to Lady Antrim

(formerly Lady-in-waiting to the Queen). Today, few would raise an

eyebrow, but in those days this was a veritable social revolution).

Sloan was one of the few speakers.

'In Tidal Basin', he said, 'the people are really hungry for this newleadership. There are many homes in West Ham, East Ham, Barking,

Ilford and Dagenham where whole families are living this quality of

life. We must see its meaning is kept intact, that it stays a living,

loving, obedient willingness to restore God to leadership and not

merely words to use as a slogan.'Buchman recalled his first days in Cambridge when he felt that God

had promised him a rebirth of Christian living in Britain within ten

years. 'There was no Browns then; only my knees,' he said.

Now he was looking forward to using this new house as a 'spiritual

embassy' in the middle of London.

Understanding LifeDuring my time there I met many people from all walks of life, races,

colours and creeds, eager to deepen their faith and understanding of

life itself, and to do what they could, to help their country recover

from the war years.

Tod Sloan was one of them.Diminutive in size, tenacious in character, Tod gave out an infectious

warmth and caring one could hardly believe, considering his exploited

and often bitter background. He was indeed a transformed individual.

This was confirmed by those I met, who knew him in his revolutionary

days in Eastham.

Tod, however made it quite plain to all he met that he was now

engaged in a far greater revolution to offer the secret of change in

the hearts and lives of men and women from whatever area of life

they might come, starting with himself.

Many today want to change the system. To this system change Tod

had given his whole life, with disappointing results and with beatings

and imprisonment as his reward.

Tod now was totally clear that unless this change started with the

individual, no change in the system would have lasting results. This

was no happy clappy, pie in the sky, do good endeavour, but would

be anchored in obedience to His Creator alone and a change in his

nature, as he was enabled.

Somebody explained this way of life as a democracy, designed by

God and worked by everybody.

My final recollection of Tod was several years later.

Tirley Garth

It was atTirley Garth, another beautiful home, overlooking the rich

agricultural Cheshire landscape. This had been given to MRA in trust

by Irene Prestwich and had been built by Irenes father, a successful

Liverpool businessman.

Irene, whom I got to know well during the years I was at Tirley

helping to run this Centre, not only gave the only home she had, but

gave generously of what income she possessed, in belief that God

would provide abundantly, as she obeyed Him.

Tirley Garth became the focus of a work that stretched through the

docks of Liverpool, the coal and pottery industry of North

Staffordshire, throughout the Midlands and Birmingham, and finally

across to the Yorkshire and Derbyshire coal fields. This is anotherstory which may come later, but none less intriguing than the one we

are about to explore.

These where Tods final days, when illness had confined him to his

bed. He was then in his 90s.

Perched on his bed, I listened as he spoke to me about the need of

the Love of God in people. He was wholly convinced, however, that

such love could only be shown through obedience to the Almighty.

Love was no sloppy, sentimental emotional thing for Tod, for he

recognized the true source. Above his bed, I remember, was framed

God is Love. It was Tods conviction that this kind of lovewas born out of obedience, where he explained Gods Will crosses my

will and I choose Gods Will. This challenged me deeply.

Solution to the 1948 National Dock strike and Backto London.

Then there was Jack Manning, the leader of the 1948 dock strike,

which crippled the country by stopping dead all imports and exports

from and to this small island.

Through the influence of friends, Jack too had found an answer to his

bitterness against the dock employers, and a new family relationshipat home. Within days, this strike, which had cost this country

248,000,000, which was a crippling sum of money in those days, had

been settled.

People especially those in the left wing of politics and in the press

accused Frank Buchman and people like Jack of strikebreaking, but

the cure went far deeper than that. By such remarks,these people

simply showed their ignorance and prejudices. It was understandable

however, for they were oblivious to the fact that God, who had a plan,

had always been in charge, and when obeyed would respond with the

appropriate solutions.

The significant thing to me about this solution was that no one

appeared to 'set out' to solve this dispute, The solution was born

through listening to God, in other words Guidance, received by Jack

and a few of his friends and which Jack obeyed. People simply do not

know today a fundamental fact of life stated clearly in the Bible:

For God is not theauthorofconfusion, but ofpeace..

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, andoflove, andof asoundmind.

1 Corinthians14:33; 2 Timothy 1:7

These are not platitudinous, pie in the sky quotations,but reality as to how Our Creator means us to live! Just asthe Law of Gravity works scientificaly, so do the above facts, if put

into action!

This newfound infectious life inspired many a revolutionary trades

unionist and employer to move forward to that greater revolution,where hatred of some was supplanted by a growing and continuing Love

and respect for all.

Today, we hope industrial relations have moved on, and people are

much more accepting of each others foibles, but in those days class

and racial strife, fomented by Communism and left and right-wing

politics, highlighted such moves to reconciliation as being unusual.

Inspiration Among the Pots and Pans

Fred Copeman, an impressive, broad shouldered, six-foot plus

individual, with a boxers chin and nose to match, turned up one day in

the basement of Clive House, where after a healthy meal, volunteers

could offer their services to wash up the considerable pile of dishes,

pots and pans that had collected.

Fred had for many year served as a member of the British CommunistParty National Executive, and was another who grasped the

commonsense reality of Buchmans approach to seemingly unsolvable

problems.

Fred, like George Vaughan in South Wales, had also been

trained in Moscow as a Communist, and had at one time been a leader

of the International Brigade in Spain. (See Chapter 3 of Where Do

We Go From Here? )

In animated discussion, Fred further enlightened, what now

increasingly appeared to be my naive approach to life, which had

already been severely shaken.

It is perhaps understandable that I used to enjoy my excursions into

the basement of 45 Berkeley Square, for one never knew whom one

would meet, and what might be the outcome.

The cellars in this home had been converted during the war years into

an air raid shelter, and subsequently into dining room and kitchen

facilities.

There were only a handful of paid staff, I think about two or three,

to do a essential skilled work, such as building maintenance.

A former skilled employee from Maples, the famous London furniture

firm, was a great and much loved character, the name of whom

escapes me. Everything else in headquarters of this worldwide work

had to be run on a voluntary basis, supplied mainly by willing helpers,

from various parts of the Home Counties, who seemed to materialize

mysteriously at the right moment.

The War was Used by Communism to Take ControlIn Europe Communism A Force then and to-day!

In those days Communism was a tremendous force in Britain.

During the war, Stalin had seized the opportunity when Russia was our

ally, to infiltrate our education, trade unions, parliament, the church

and every other significant area of control, including our media and

education. Yet, as today, a remarkably few people seem to be aware

that this was so, or if aware, seemed unconcerned. At least that was

my experience when talking to people.

Not so Frank Buchman, and those trained by him.

The disturbing thing also today is, that very few seem to realize that

with the demolishing of the Berlin Wall, Communism was not

demolished with it; indeed it is flourishing today, but in a covert and

more sinister way.

Gorbachev, under whose Presidency the demolishing of the Wall was

allowed, has drifted into the mystical back rooms of the New WorldOrder, another headline that barely gets a mention in the Media

these days, but still we now know he plays a significant role in its

development.

Now the secret operations are considerably advanced and appear

under different names, such as the New World Order, theIlluminati, the Bilderberg Group, the Tavistock Institute in

London and the Council of Foreign Relations, to mention but a few.

The European Union is also heavily infiltrated, but has now reached

the ultimate synthesis, always envisaged by Marx, Lenin and the

subsequent Communist leadership.

After the titanic struggle between Capitalism and Communism,

especially since the last war, the always planned synthesis is now

happening under the auspices of the Vatican Jesuits and their helpers

like Michael Gorbachev! Why do you think Tony Blair and otherprominent Western leaders are putting on the Vatican mantle? Why

do you think the world, both East and West, pay homage to the Pope?

Even the United Nations has its Communist- Capitalist agenda as its

main plank, planned by powerful minds, as the future Global

Government unfolds. It is well known that the UN is riddled with

Communists, fellow travelers and New Age occultists.

The overall aim is a simple one to shortly announce a WorldGovernment, with a new World Army, a World Security Police and

Intelligence presence and a World Religion, led by the by the present

Pontiff.

This will be used to control a world population compliant through mind

control and tight Security, just as George Orwell in his epic book

1984 foretold.

Fortunately for us, the Almighty has different ideas which he is

about to uneash and is offered as a LIFELINE to all who wish

and have the common sense to take it.

the glazed eyes of our main media fails to research and we allow to

happen!

The Long View

Satan, whom the Bible refers to as the Angel of light and his

henchmen have been planning these things for eons.

In the days of the great Bible believing preachers like Luther, Calvin,

Moody, Wesley, Henry Drummond, Sturgen and others, most were all

too aware of Satans presence and constantly engaged their audiencein this reality. They spoke of the responsibility of Christians in

effective Spiritual Warfare against the Devil and all his works.

In fact, if my memory serves me right from my Church of England

days, those very words are the responsibility of Godparents.

Through the channel of Harry Potter and numerous other so-calledfairy tales and entertainment in books and multi-million-dollar

films in Hollywood, most fail to discern the sign of the times, in spite

of the fact that the Bible gives us ample clues.

Most homes and centers of education have jettisoned that book long -

but not Frank Buchman. To him the Bible was not to be waved

around and glibly quoted, but to be revered and obeyed as the

reality of life. This often gave him the insight as to the true intents

of the person to whom he was speaking, which could be embarrassing!

I remember being told of an incident, when Buchman was entertaining

the Prime Minister of an Asian country. Across the table sat his Chief

Adviser in Cabinet. Frank, after the meal turned to his guest and said,

you want to watch that man, he is a plant in your Cabinet or words

to that effect.

It later turned out that hed been placed there by the Communist

Party, and was able to dominate that politician through blackmail in his

personal life.

Sadly this is also happening in many cases today at great cost to those

governed! It is also worth considering, that because many of us who

are the governed, because we may be compromised in our own lives,

are either too blind or unwilling to do anything affective about it.

This was the fact that struck home to me those many years ago at

Pirbright, and mercifully I was shown what I could do. Again you can

read about this if you wish in Chapter 2 of this book the LINK of

which is at the end.

We get the Leaders we deserve

Today it is significant that the country of which this politician was

Prime Minister, is in the vice like grip of a dictatorship.although mostpeople dont realise this. Sadly he did not take the hint from Frank

Buchman. The reality is that whether of the right or left, Communist

or Fascist, it matters not, whoever is living in that country have lost

their freedom, and nobody, for whatever reason, as with Mugabe in

Zimbabwe, seems to be inclined or able to do much about it!

This intrigue and deception is going on today at all levels in all

countries, including Britain.

You might like to look at this recent video, which will bring you up-to-

speed as to what is now going on in this country and Europe.

The author, Brian Gerrish, a former Royal Naval Commander, who held

high intelligence clearance, as he hunted down Soviet Nuclear

The First Japanese Delegation to visit the West

After the War.

A strong parliamentary group of some 70 leaders from Japan,

the first official delegation from Japan to visit the West sincethe war, where entertained at Clive House on their way to Caux

in 1948.

At that time, Mike and Margaret Barrett had asked me to help

in the running of the home. What happened during that time at

Clive House and the remarkable outcome, is told in another

chapter of this book, which will shortly appear.

A brief incident, however, which at the time causedconsiderable concern and is embedded on my memory.

The Japanese apparently have not only a passion for cleanliness

and enjoy frequent bathing, but have a practice of allowing the

water to run continuously. One evening several of us where

discussing matters in one of the rooms in Clive House, which

supported a magnificent Adams ceiling decorated with

embossed goldleaf.

A mysterious sound of dripping water could be heard, to be

followed with an increasing wet patch on the guilded ceiling.

Ascending the spiral staircase as fast as I could muster, I

found water issuing from the bath room on the floor above.

Through the door I tried to explain to the occupant what was

happening. Finally, the flood was stemmed, and the problem

dealt with. Fortunately, it was possible to dry out the sealing,

and minimal damage was done. Our upset guest was overcomewith distress and apologized profusely.

Some Lessons Learned

As interference on radio or TV reception cause problems, so

interference of guidance by a sources other than the Spirit of

God, can cause confusion and had to be dealt with, before a

satisfactory solution could be found. Since we were dealing with

people, the often well-meaning but blundering efforts of man

seemed only to exacerbate the problem.Only solutionsoriginating with the Creator seemed to bring effective

conclusions.

Of course, being human, we did not always get it right! The

experiment nevertheless was fun, and when it was working, life

seemed full of surprises!

The Barretts had spent many years working closely with Frank

Buchman and although challenging, the influence of Franks

wisdom, his concern for people, detail, humour and sense of fun

was infectious.

Garth Lean in his book gives something of what it was like to

work around Buchman:

At Whitsun 1935 Buchman's secretary, Joyce Machin,

died suddenly of a tumour of the brain. Michael Barrett and

another young Scot, Lawson Wood, volunteered to take on her

duties.

Barrett was the son of an Edinburgh printer and had been in

the Oxford ju-jitsu team. Wood had read law at Aberdeen.

Both were around 25, and each had an ample supply of Scots

determination and pride. They learnt typing andspeed-writingand set to work.

Barrett, who married one of Lloyd George's grand-daughters,

remarked recently that he much preferred A.J. Sylvester's to

the other lives of Lloyd George, 'because it showed

how impossible it was to be his secretary'. 'Like Buchman,' he

added with a smile.

For one thing, he explained, Buchman, often seemed astonished

if letters he dictated were not perfectly typed and ready for

the post the moment they had left his mouth, besides

expecting you to know to whom he was writing withoutbeingtold.

Once theywere in Egypt together and, while they showed their

travelling companions the citadel above Cairo, Buchmanremarked, 'We must write so-and-so.' Directly they got into

the taxi to return to Cairo, Buchman began dictating, and

continued, without let-up,through a series of tunnels in

complete darkness. 'I got most of it, and remembered or made

up the rest,' said Barrett.

John Faber, a former naval officer, ran the MRA publications

with Rex Dilly under Ken Belden, in whose home John Faber and

I lived for some time, at 43 Charles Street, a stones throw

from 45 Berkley square. Ken and Stella Belden where a jovial

warm-hearted couple, and included me in their family affairs in

a wonderful way.

Before working with the Barretts, my job was to help John and

Rex. This meant mainly parcelling and dispatching worldwide the

numerous and ever increasing documents, books and pamphlets

as they rolled off the presses. To help us, friends from

throughout the London area would travel into Hayes Mews to

give their time.

The day would usually start with a brief meeting, when with

these volunteers, we would all assemble briefly, to exchange

ideas as appropriate, and then decide together, where the days

priority lay. Life bubbled with laughter and much leg pulling.

Through it all, however, the needs of people where in the

forefront of our minds.

We often found that as a result of waiting on guidance to

mature, problems seemed to solve themselves on the hoof asit where.

Intuition

Intuition pressed itself to the fore; where previously I had just

ignored it, now I became acutely aware of such innerprompting. A simple thought enacted, could change the whole

tenor of life, and we soon discovered that problems solved in

families, sometimes transformed into solutions in industry and

the nation.

The arrogance of an over confident former young Guards

Officer is small beer for the Almighty to overcome!

One day, Rex Dilly, whose pride and joy was his newly re-structured Austin Seven daubed in dark green paint, took the

rash decision to announce that he would appreciate my help in

fetching his car from its garage in Hayes Mews, as he was

pressed for time.

As the engine burst into life, the reverse gear was engaged, and

we majestically reversed out of the garage.

When time came to apply the brakes, my foot also engaged theaccelerator, which for those who know this car, is an easy thing

to do. We hit the oncoming loo with considerable force,with

resultant damage to Rexs idol.

Rex was not amused! Even my worst dressings down by

Regimental Sergeant Major Timmy Brittain, who was known for

his withering outbursts, during my time at the Officers

Training Unit at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, seemed to pale

into insignificance, compared with the tirade meted out by Rex.

I began to realized that lessons learned from an awakenedconscience were far more meaningful and permanent than human

discipline, although this certainly has its part.

Another lesson was that where the Almighty is allowed to

intervene, true healing is often brought. True Peace lies alone in

the Author of Peace.

Sadly, one can only assume, The Prince of Peace does not get

much of a look-in these days in many of this worldspeacemaking achievements, as sincere and worthy as they may

seem to be! These days, my recipe is to do what I am told by

the Almighty to the best of my ability, and then leave it in his

hands.

Ken and Stella Belden with Stellas brother Oliver Corderoy

were wonderful, caring hosts to John Faber and myself in their

home at 43 Charles Street, which was just round the corner

from Hayes Mews. The Beldens home was a real house full,

comprising some 14 people, as far as I can remember, including

the Beldens and their two delightful children, David and Hilary.

Lifes memories highlight certain events. Oliver Corderoy, also

living in the home, spotted a certain missing dimension in my

life, and presented me with the epic poem The Hound of

Heaven by Francis Thompson.

Not being one for poetry in those days I approached it with no

great enthusiasm.

However, like and the play The Forgotten Factor, it

somehow sneaked under my radar. Its effect was to focus for

me how God had in his love dealt with me since the beginning of

my experiment at Pirbright.

I began to see that the Almighty, once he has made up his mind

to call a person, like the great fisherman He is, plays His

quarry with patience but firmness, while allowing him sufficient

scope to venture into all sorts of blind allies. It was throughsuch blind alleys, valuable lessons where beginning to be

learned.

The primary lesson to be learnt I began to understand was

obedience to what My Maker told me! Once learnt, the rod and

line are then withdrawn, and a new freedom is discovered with

the love and protection that goes with it!

Here are those lines that made such an impression:

The afternoons and evenings were often spent at the Westminster

Theatre where The Forgotten Factor was showing, which originally

had had such an impact on my life at Pirbright..

Audiences flooded in from all over the country; from the mining

areas of Yorkshire, South Wales, the Durham Coal Fields, from the

docks of London and Liverpool, from the Potteries of North

Staffordshire, and indeed from all walks of life.

The impact of this one production on the life of Britain was

impressive, and was being recognized as such by all strata's of

society, although it also had its many enemies. After eachperformance, animated conversation took place, as those gripped by

the play sought to find out why they had been so deeply effected by

the plays message.

When to their astonishment they discovered that the secret lay in

the simple concept involving a change in themselves, not

surprisingly perhaps, many headed for the exit. Others stayed on to

go more deeply into the realisation; a few decided to participate in

this unique experiment, and continued for life!

Reunification of Europe.

A war-torn Europe, which I was now to enter, spoke of the need for

a permanent peace, for a people throughout the Continent, who had

suffered deeply over the past hundred years with constant war.Some of their leaders, such as Adenauer, de Gasperi and Schuman,

had a vision of a Europe united above nationality. It was into this

situation that I now found myself entering.

As we the Cast and Backstage Crew mingled with the audience after

each play we staged in Germany, they were thoroughly confused by

what the Americans and others were offering in terms of

Democracy, for wasnt it from something like failed Democray that

Hitler had retrieved them?

I can remember vividly being confronted by these formerly Nazis

mind- manipulated people and their bemusement at the judgemental

attitude other nations had towards them.

How could one approach this, and how did Frank Buchman and his

Group approach it, and with what result? This is to be the subject of

the next chapter.

In their ideological approach, they saw a just cause to rid their nation

of chaos, which much of the world felt was the result of the draconian

impositions put on them through the Versailles Treaty after World

War I.

This many felt had unjustlly brought the nation to its knees

economically and politically and opened the door to Hitler.

Among other things, Hitler got the trains running on time and

recovered order and self-respect to the German people, which they

recognised and for which they were grateful. Therefore, any

measures taken were justified in their eyes, even the destruction of

the Jewish race, whom we now know they regarded falsly as part of

the cause of their problem. It now is known, as this video points out,

many German through the propaganda fed them, knew nothing of the

Concentration camp atrocities.

Somehow, this was the mindset, which Frank Buchman and we in his

Group of would-be peacemakers had to overcome , if a solution was

to be found for Europe. Many on the Allied side saw this arrogant

attitude in the Germans as the main problem, and again were keen to

follow the failed Versailles Treaty of imposing harsh victors terms

on the vanquished, which seemed justified.

Frank Buchman was clear that this arrogant attitude to a

conquered people would not work and shocked many friends and

foes alike by inviting senior Germans to Caux immediately after

the Armistice, including some half-dozen Generals.

There was, however, another secretive plan being worked out,

unknown to Europeans, and most of the British and American people.

It was,however, known and encouraged by some of the Intelligance

Services of both Europe and America including elements of MI6. This

was Operation Paperclip,which in hindsight is now fully

acknowledged, and lends a 007 background to the fledgling coming

European Union and its now sinister Nazis-Communits future, about

which Brian Gerish in his film explained earlier in this Chapter.

So monstrous and credulous is the re-incarnation of the possibility of

Nazism and Communism to most thinking people, that its has taken me

years to come to term with the reality of what is now happening. Had

I not come across the possibilty in many passages of the Bible, I would

have given it the same treatment that the majority did then!

At this point perhaps I should clarify my involvement with a supposed friend

of President Nkruma, who had spent time in prison with Nkruma during the

Kennedys Presidency.

One of my first assignments when I got out to Caux, Switzerland

One day, I met Frank Buchman in the passage way in Moutain House,

supported by Peter Howard, for Frank was recovering from a serious stroke,.

I had with me this soulmate of Nkrumah, who had been in prison with the

President.

Frank stopped when he got to us, and said something to this efffect, point

to my roomate, You are a Communist Plant, and I want you to leave this

Conference this afternoon on the next train, and dont ever come back!

Imagine my astonishment not only at both Franks outburst, but also at the

fact that I had not understood the situation, and the resulting danger to the

Conference and all that Frank was trying to do! This would be a lesson I will

always remember and be grateful for.

I had written numerous letters to My adopted Father and Lucile, his wife as

we journeyed through Europe and America with Frank Buchman and his

Group. These are my memories experienced at the time, and therefore to me

genuine and special.
