Welcome to Sunshine ButterfliesSunshine Butterflies is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation founded to support and improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families.
SunshineButterflies,yourlocaldisabilitysupportcharity, wasfoundedbysomeonetouchedbydisability,tosupport andimprovethelivesofpeoplelivingwithadisability andtheirfamilies.
Foundedin2010,theSunshineButterfliesjourneybegan whenLeanneWalshandherhusbandDamien’ssonCurtis wasborn13weeksprematurein1995withCerebralPalsy.
ThroughLeanne’sexperience,passionanddedication, theSunshineButterfliesvisionandethosistoprovidea betterfutureforpeoplewithdisabilities,andtoempower familiesbyprovidingasupportiveandinclusivebutterfly‘family’ toachievefamiliesgoalsforahappy,fulfilledlife.
SunshineButterflies,offersa‘one-stop-shop’fordisabilitysupportservices,at‘Our Backyard’theirpurpose-builtfacilitylocatedon5acresintheNoosacountryside.
Weprovidearangeofeducationalandrecreationaldisabilitysupportservicesincluding:sportingandrecreationalprograms,wellbeingandtherapyservices,plusvitallifeskillsprograms.
WealsoofferfamiliesRespiteandassistancewithNDISAdviceandPlanning.

Welcome to 'Our Backyard '‘OurBackyard’,homeofSunshineButterflies,isa 5acrelearning,respite,educationandrecreationalfacilityintheNoosacountrysidethatprovides lifeskills,plusrecreationalandlearningopportunities topeopleofallabilities.
Locatedinthebeautifulnaturalbushlandat468McKinnonDriveCooroibah,‘OurBackyard’isjust 5minutesfromTewantin/Noosa,bringingeveryonetogetherinoneaccessibleplacetoaccessallofourprograms,activities,supportsandservices.
Withbeautifullylandscapedgrounds,featuringrollinggreenlawns,gardenbedsfilledwithherbs,veggies,saladsandavarietyoffruittreesandnativeshrubs.
‘OurBackyard’isalsohometonumerousfriendlyTherapyAnimalsthatinclude;Cows,aGoat,severalSheep,JimmytheDonkey,Ducks,Chickens,Geese,GuineaFowl,Birds,Peacocks,miniaturePonies,Horse, 3dogsandRosiethecat.
ThesefurryandfeatheredfriendshelpusdeliverourTherapeuticAnimalEnrichmentSessionsand‘Farmability’animalcareprogram.

'COMMANDO OUTDOOR EDUCATION'Calling all outdoorsy, adventure fans! Our'CommandoOutdoorEducation'programaimstoenablepeopleof
variousabilitiestoenjoythegreatoutdoorswithconfidence.Thisprogramwillincludeadiverserangeof outdooractivitiesincludingbushwalking,orienteering,kayaking,fishingandcamping,withchallengesworkingtowardsachievementbadges. Participantswilllearnnewskillsaswellasgainindependenceand confidenceinthegreatoutdoors.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Have a dream to live independently and be part of your community? Wecanassistyoutomakethemostofyourabilitiesandhelpyoudevelopyourself-confidenceandself-reliancebyprovidingyouwiththeresourcesandinformationtotakecontrolofyourlifetoliveindependentlyandfeelsafeinyourcommunity.
Ourteamofprofessional,caringstaffwillworkwithyouandyourfamilytoidentifywhatyouwantandneed.
WewillsupportyoutoreachyourgoaloflivingindependentlyandwiththetransitionintoSupported
Independent Living(SIL),utilisingourexperiencedandprofessionalSupportWorkerstoensureaseamlesstransition.
Wemanagetheproperty,helpmatchupsuitabletenantsandprovidecaringand
experiencedsupportstaff,24hoursaday,7daysperweek,toassistyouwithyourpersonalhygieneandgrooming,accessingcommunityservicesandyourdailylivingneeds.
Wewillencourageyoutolearnnewlifeskillsanddevelopnewfriendships.
SUPPORT COORDINATION
SupportCoordinationisanNDISservicedesignedtoassistyoutogetthemostoutofyourNDISfundingpackage.OurexperiencedteamatSunshineButterflieswillworktogetherwithyoutoexplorewhatoptionsareopentoyouandrecommendwhereandhowyoucanaccessthesupportsinyourlocalcommunity,thatyouneedtoaccesstoachieveyourgoals.
