April 16, 2017 - 3 - Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord As our population ages, we are aware that many of our parishioners are car-ing for a loved one at home or in a residence outside the home. This

role of caregiver can be both a blessing and a challenge, and it takes a special person to minister to their needs in a loving and gentle way. We at St. Matthew want to assure all our caregivers that we are united with you in prayer. If we can assist you in your vocation as caregiver, please contact anyone on our Pastoral Team. We want to help you in any way we can.

Applications for the Parish Scholarships are available in the office after Mass or on our website. Scholarships are available for students at High Schools, Colleges and Universities. To be eligible for a scholarship you must attend Mass weekly and be involved in parish life at St. Matthew.

Deadline for the application to be turned in to the Parish Office is May 28th, by 5pm.

Not everyone applying will receive aid.

BUS SERVICE

Bus Service is available on the First and Third Saturday of each month for the 4pm Mass, to any parishioner, youth or adult, unable to get to Mass on their own. For

III Consultation on Immigration Wednesdays of the month for those who wish to speak to a lawyer for immigration advice, Anthony Febles will continue to offer his services. Anthony is not available the 1st Wednesday of the month.

IV Financial Consultation Every Wednesday of the month, Ron Koroscil, MBA, will be available to help anyone who would like to get advice on “How to live within one’s means”. Ron specializes in budgeting and keeping on target.

Offertory Gift Bearers

The gifts of bread and wine are brought to the altar at each Mass on the weekend. The gifts represent the offering of ourselves to our Heavenly Father. The offertory bearers represent each one of us as if we each brought our own gift to the altar. Any family or individual parishioner may volunteer to bring up the gifts. Please tell an usher if you wish to participate.

HOSPITAL /HOME VISITS/

CONVALESCENT HOMES

We visit the hospital and homes to bring the Sacrament of the Sick as well as Holy Communion when a person is unable to get to church. Please call Sister Sally at (203) 838-3788, ext. 118, with the name, address, and phone number, as well as an e-mail address, if applicable. Our policy is to call a day before.

Hospital Visitations / Home Visits Let Us Know You Are There!

Due to the Federal health privacy laws (HIPPA), hospitals can no longer issue names of admitted patients to area parishes unless it is requested by the patient. You or a family member must let the Admissions Office know of your desire to have us visit during your hospital stay. They are also not allowed to give any information about your release whether to home or rehab. Upon discharge, you may call Sr. Sally at (203) 838-3788, ext. 118, if you would like a visit at home or at a rehabilitation center.
