THE NICENE CREED
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION
God of all mercy, we confess that we have sinned against you, opposing your will in our lives. We have denied your goodness in each other, in ourselves, and in the world you have created. We repent of the evil that enslaves us, the evil we have done, and the evil done on our behalf. Forgive, restore, and strengthen us through our Savior Jesus Christ, that we may abide in your love and serve only your will. Amen.
Presider Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen.
THE PEACE Presider The peace of the Lord be always with you. People And also with you.
The People greet one another in the name of Christ.
THE OFFERING Representatives of the congregation bring the people's offerings to the Altar. Tax receipts are issued annually for gifts totaling $20 or more. Your financial gifts together with the bread and wine are brought forward and presented at the altar as a sign of thanksgiving to God from whom all blessings flow.

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and every-where to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth… …Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name: HOLY, HOLY, HOLY
8 Last Sunday after the Epiphany + February 23, 2020
Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself, and, when we had fallen into sin and become subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy, sent Jesus Christ, your only and eternal Son, to share our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all…
…Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.
Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.
We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O Father, in this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving… …and at the last day bring us with all your saints into the joy of your eternal kingdom.
As our Savior Christ has taught us, we now pray,

If you desire to know the love of God that overcomes apathy, alienation, and despair, then you are invited to share in the cup of the new covenant. The bread is received in the open palm. It is usual Anglican practice to drink the wine from the common cup. If you wish the chalice bearer to dip the bread into the wine, please hold the bread before you. If you prefer to receive a blessing, please cross your arms over your chest.
The bread is gluten-free and vegan at the 10:00 am service. Grape juice is available by request. Please ask the Chalicebearer if you would prefer juice to wine.

A donation for Easter Lilies can be made in memory/honor of a loved one. Place the donation in an Easter Lily envelope which will be provided by the church or drop a check in the donation plate with “Easter Lilies” in the memo line. Remember to write the names of the people that you are honoring so that the Easter Vigil and Easter bulletins can list their names. All donations need to be made by Sunday, April 5th.
The flowers will adorn the church at the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday morning as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Beloved Christ. Let your heart tell you the amount to donate. Donations can also be made at Grace’s website under “donate.” Just note in the memo box who you wish to honor.
Join us for Grace’s annual pancake dinner and talent-optional talent show, beginning at 5.30pm on Tuesday, February 25th at 5.30pm in the parish hall. Bring your appetite - and sign up to share your song, skit, joke, or interpretive dance number. We’ll conclude the evening by taking the palms from last year’s Palm Sunday and turning them into ash for Ash Wednesday.
You are invited to begin a holy Lent through the ancient practice of the imposition of ashes. Please join us February 26th at 12 Noon in the chapel or 7pm in the Nave. Holly Puckett will preach.
Attention Ushers, Friday Feed volunteers and anyone else interested! Maybe you noticed the AED device (defibrillator) outside of the church office. As many folks as possible should know when and how to use it. Please attend the training session on March 1st at noon. Marie Escamilla from CPR Heart Savers will be in the Parish Hall demonstrating the proper use of the AED. Hope to see you there!

Many people aren’t familiar with the lengthy history of African-Americans in The Episcopal Church. The first black Episcopal priest, The Rev. Absalom Jones, was ordained in 1802. One of our primary goals is to study the historical contributions of African-Americans to the church, including early leadership on monumental issues that are dear to all Episcopalians. One-hour meetings will be held the second Monday of the month here in the parish hall at 7pm.
The first meeting is scheduled for March 9th. We encourage all who are interested to email: [email protected] to join the mailing list.

On 3/22 we will be discussing Stations of the Cross and on 3/29 the Triduum liturgy (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil). Interested? Have questions?
