OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES: It is that time of year to begin to prepare for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. Boxes and labels are in the foyer. All shoeboxes are due by November 17th. We have a goal to collect 50 shoeboxes this year. Please place your packed shoe boxes in the Foyer.

ADULT CONNECTION GROUP ANNOUNCEMENTS: Opportunities to GROW together are presented through the Connection Groups that meet Sunday morning at 9:15 AM and 10:30 AM and throughout the week.

CONNECTION CAFÉ: We will have donuts and coffee available each Sunday morning.

KIDS DAY OUT: It is time for pre-registration. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Kids’s Day Out program for the 2013-2014 year please contact Gayle Burgett. (548-2127 or gayle @firstshallowater.org) We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will begin on September 3rd.  

KIDZ CHURCH : For children ages 1st - 4th grade. Your kids are invited to this special service just for them on Sunday mornings at 9:15 AM in the Blue Room. We are in need of a leader for this service who would love to teach kids great and powerful Biblical truths. Please call Julie Batten at 535-7641 if you are interested in helping in any way.

ENCORE SHOE BOX PROJECT 2013: In conjunction with the Operation Christmas Child project we are going to set a goal of filling 25 shoeboxes through our senior adult ministry – Encore. You may participate by choosing to purchase your own items for the shoebox or donate $20 toward filling a shoebox. If you want to donate the money the deadline is today. On November 12th we need volunteers to come and help pack the shoe boxes and put a personal note inside. We will have the people mover in the Encounter parking lot at 1:30PM for those that would like to ride the bus to First Baptist Church. Refreshments will be served. Sign up in your Connection Group or come by the Church office and turn in your information and money.

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
