Wealthy Medieval Lord Chaperon - a style of fancy mens hat which was popular amongst rich people in the 15th Century. It needed a lot of material to make it. Bronze handled sharp eating knife in a leather scabbard. Everyone carried an eating knife and spoon with them. Tight woollen hose Long riding boots. Very expensive as they used a lot of leather. A wealthy 15th Century Lord like this would have owned a castle and manor houses. He would have been a Knight. He would have servants and horses and many fine things. He would have held important positions of power in parliament or the church. Silk Doublet Chain of office, showing the lords importance. Woollen gown for warmth Jewelled ring Pouch for holding coins and other items. Medieval clothes had no pockets. The bar of the pouch is made of brass, making it harder for a cut purse to steal it. This is the keep of Hedingham Castle in Essex, owned and built by the Devere family in circa 1140AD. The keep is the only part of the castle still remaining. Only rich lords could afford to live in a home like this.
