INTRODUCTIONChalina Estate is an eight-bedroomed fully staffed villa with 30-metre pool, just minutes from the beach, in the village of Pererenan, Canggu, south-west Bali.

Chalina Estate’s gorgeous grounds and facilities make it a fabulous venue for weddings and special events for up to 120 people. The sloping lawns bordering the Pangi River, offering incredible sunset views over neighbouring rice fields and glimpses of the mystical Batukaru volcano in the distance, ensure that guests will never forget this once-in-a lifetime experience.

Chalina Estate is ideal for many types of ceremony, from a traditional Balinese wedding ceremony to an intimate dinner party. Chalina Estate also caters for wellness and health retreats providing the perfect venue for yoga and meditation classes. A full vegetarian menu is available on request.

These guidelines are intended to give Event Organisers (EOs) and their clients, guidance specific to Chalina Estate and should be read in conjunction with Elite Havens General Guidelines for Event Management.

WEATHERApril through to October offers ideal conditions for any event at Chalina Estate. EOs are advised to consider rainy season conditions (November until March) and plan accordingly for events.

It is a compulsory to use a marquee or a tent during the rainy season months in Bali (November – March). This will be the backup plan as the villa do not offer indoor space to accommodate the guests, especially when it involves a larger group.

The tent needs to have clear plastic sides curtains and a proper flooring. A professional vendor is required to ensure the quality of the structure follow EH standards. A list of approved vendors can be proposed.

EVENT SPACE The large open-sided living and dining pavilion, and neighbouring lounge, which is equipped with a modern bar, Bose sound system and two large terraces, provide a fantastic space for functions.

GUEST WASHROOMSThere are two guest washrooms available for use during events, one of which is beneath the lounge and conveniently located for easy access from the pool and garden area. A second toilet is located in the dinning area. It is the responsibility of the EO to ensure the cleanliness of the bathrooms during events.

KITCHEN AND BARThe villa kitchen is not available for event use, however there is ample space to set up a satellite kitchen on the lawn beside the main living room. Caterers are requested to bring a tent to cover the cooking area in case of rain.

There is a bar in the entertainment room but it is recommended that a separate event bar be set up in the grounds.

PARKINGThe parking area is to be kept free for guests’ arrivals and departures (drop off and pick up). This means that there is no parking on site for EOs or suppliers. Vehicles are permitted for a one hour period for loading but should be off site at least one hour prior to the event. Guests should be encouraged to use drivers or taxis for events at Chalina Estate.

REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONSThe living room is ideal for welcome drinks. Furniture in here may be removed and this space may be used as a contingency in the event of rain. EOs should consider this space only in the case of emergencies and ensure a proper wet weather plan be conceived for events taking place between November and March.

Marquees must be freestanding. Flooring is allowed but should be done on the day of the event to limit damage to the grass.

Staging is permitted over the pool, however a site plan must be submitted a minimum of 45 days prior for approval. Floating bamboo and foam structures for candles and flowers are permitted however the EO should ensure their removal by 1am or as soon as guests enter the pool in order to avoid any damage or injury.

Fireworks and the release of balloons /Thai wishing lanterns are strictly forbidden.
