Edison IP 56 rated weatherproof wiring accessories are designed to protect the electric supply in outdoor areas where protection against dust or rainwater is required. These accessories o�er highest safety to outdoors power outlets and can be used for domestic, commercial and industrial installations. Edison IP56 weatherproof enclosures o�ers dust ingress protection and are protected from high water pressure from any direction.

Not:- IP56 protection when not in use and the lid is fully closed.

Edison IP65 weatherproof enclosures o�ers dust ingress and are protected from high water pressure from any direction even when in use and plugs are inserted.

Edison weatherproof accessories are light weight and can be installed using conventional installation tools.Edison weatherproof accessories are self extinguishing, non �ame propagating durable, hard to damage, long lasting and do not rust within its life cycle.

Edison weather proof accessories are non �ame propagating and

self extinguishing in accordance to BS EN 50085-1: 2005. Material

is tested at a severity of 850°C. This test simulates thermal stresses

produced by heat or ignition sources such as overloaded

resistors. The specimen is clamped for 30 seconds with the force

of 1 N against the tip of a glowing metal wire at the temperature

of 850°C. A sheet of tissue paper is placed under the specimen,

for testing of ignition due to falling droplets.

Extinguishing of the �ame within 30 seconds from removal of the

wire & no ignition of the tissue con�rm the non �ame propagat-

ing properties Edison products.

Edison IP56 & IP65 switches and sockets are supplied as complete units and feature two 20mm knockouts. Edison Weather proof switches are ideal to use in outdoors and sheltered locations in all ambient weather conditions. Resistant to heat, shock in accordance with IEC695-2-1.Silicon gasket allows operation of switch without lifting cover Large switch rocker allows easy and smooth operation.20mm conduit entries available on all sides for easy cable entry.High resistance to ageing with UV protection.Halogen free plastic material is with resistance to chemicals, acids and bases containing Cadmium and halogens.Support frames accepts all modules of Edison range.High formulated Gel Seal for IP65 protection when the plug is inserted. Ample space provided for cabling.Widest range of IP56 & IP65 switches, sockets and other accessories.

WARNING: Switch of and isolate main power supply before carrying

out installation of the switch. These products must be installed by a

competent person e.g. a quali�ed electrician in accordance with the

relevant wiring diagram and conforming to the latest edition of the

IEE wiring regulations applicable in each country.

For Outdoor location, circuit must be protected by an appropriate

fuse, circuit breaker or RCD in accordance to IEE wiring regula-

tions, moreover use of unprotected �at PVC insulated cable is

NOT recommended.

When installing sockets an earth conductor must be provided

from the mains supply to the earth terminal of the socket outlet.

This earth conductor must be sleeved inside the enclosure.

If metal conduit is used in more than one cable entry, earth

continuity must be maintained between conduits. Where conduit

is used for cable runs, water condensation MUST be prevented.

Read the safety instructions carefully.The enclosure must be mounted on a �at, clean,dry vertical surface (free from grease, dirt and loose material).Mark the position of the �xing holes on the wall, for the enclo-sure box. Drill holes and �t suitable wall plugs for securing screw.Carefully remove the cable entry cap or break one or more knockouts, as required and �t the cable gland (not provided) suitable for 20 mm conduit. Secure the enclosure box to the wall with suitable screws (not provided). Align and install conduit as required. Complete wiring connections to the accessory terminals (on frame / lid assembly). Ensure that cables are not stressed and terminals are fully tightened. Locate the ‘Frame/Lid’ assembly to the enclosure box ensure that holes are aligned and the gasket is seated properly on the enclosure box. Open the lid and secure to the box, using the captive screws provided and do not over tighten the screws.

Ensure that paint, chemicals, or wood preservatives do not come into contact with this product.

Rated Current (A) 20A 35A 63A

Edison IP56 Weatherproof Isolators are manufactured in

accordance to BSEN 60947-3 and are suitable to use in the

outdoor applications. These Isolators are rated at AC-23A and

offers 1,2,3 and 4 pole option from 20 A to 63A.

Each unit is supplied with screwed conduit plugs and screw

reducers for easy connection to 25mm or 20 mm conduits and

screw caps. Screw caps must be installed to ensure IP rating.

Fixed Earth and Neutral connector bars with dual clamping

screws per tunnel provide equal stripping lengths and secure

clamping for all cables. Terminal bore size 5 - 6 mm.

High Impact resistant base and cover ensure safety during after

installation. The two sections are sealed with a one piece weather

seal gasket. Deep moulded barriers protect the operating lever

from physical abuse or accidental switching.

Padlocking option to secure the lever in OFF position is available

on special request.

Edison Isolators are compact and easy to install. The base mounted mechanism provides for easier termination and more wiring room. Switch dimensions are 166mm x 82mm with an overall height of 85mm.

A safety feature for mounting switches to metal structures is the insulating caps that cover base mounting screws to totally protect them from any live cables.

Edison IP66 rated straight plugs are manufactured from Impact resistant, UV stabilized plastic material. These plugs are IP66 rated when �tted to Edison socket connector. The body section is transparent for quick and easy inspection of the terminals and cable entry. Plugs are available with 3 to 5 pins, 13A to 50A to cover maximum applications.

Edison IP66 rated surface mounted socket outlets feature a transparent hinged �ap which snap shuts and lock over the socket when the plugs are withdrawn forming an automatic IP66 seal. The �ap is transparent so the pin con�guration can be readily identi�ed without opening.

This range of industrial sockets is an extensive range of one-piece combination switched sockets. All 500V Switched Sockets rated 32A and above have an internal locking feature (plugs cannot be withdrawn or inserted when the switch is in the ON position.) This feature is also available for 16A and 20A upon request. Optional key locking OFF and Neon indicator facility is provided. White ordering key lock or Neon indicator add “K” and “N” after the part number.
