Who is Here Today?
By end of the session:You will have a basic understanding of Web 2.0 resources (and other FREE online resources), identify some applications that align with your curriculum, and have some ideas about how they might be incorporated into instruction.
What is Web 2.0?• The second generation Web
• Dynamic and shareable content and social networking
• Simply referred to as the READ WRITE web
Another Perspective on Web 2.0• Web 2.0 sites create the framework
for user participation, where a site’s primary content is contributed by its users.
• This shift has moved the Internet from our traditional one-way information flow to a two-way “conversation” in which the Three R’s have been supplanted by the Three C’s: Contributing, Collaborating, Creating — through mediums like blogs, wikis, and twittering.
