WEB LITERACY FOR BABIES….?

How two pre-schools are transforming curricular pedagogy to

go beyond typical “tools”

Two diverse philosophies

• Creative Curriculum

• Teacher directed: The activities are planned for

children. The environment is organized

around curricular goals. Skills based. Teachers initiate discussion.

• Reggio Emilia

• Student directed: Children have some control over

the direction of their learning. Children explore the environment

and create new ones. Children have a relationship with

other children Children must have endless ways

and opportunities to express themselves.

One distinct challenge: overcoming anxiety about technology access for preschoolers.

Using BAR CODES to enrich learning.Combining literacy skills, social skills and critical thinking skills in a transformation use project at the Creative Curriculum preschool program.

PROJECT ONE: THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM PRE-SCHOOL
