Web Slings

Our polyester (PES) webbing slings are suitable for a wide range of Lifting applications and can be supplied in the standard web sling format (Duplex/Simplex/Endless) or to a bespoke design. As part of the ISO9001 requirement we carry out routine testing and inspecting – from the incoming raw materials to the finished product leaving the factory. All products are manufactured and supplied in accordance to the relevant European Standard which stipulates colour code, labelling and how the sling is sewn together. Duplex and Simplex polyester webbing slings are produced to EN1492-1:2000, They are lighter and more flexi-ble than a chain or wire ropes. They can be especially suitable for lifting expensive or easily damaged products, due to their soft and flexible material.

Web Slings

Webbing slings are available in different types. The most common types are

Duplex - two layers of webbing with soft eyes each end.

Double Duplex – where four layers of webbing are used to increase the tonnage of the sling.

Simplex - single layer of webbing with soft eyes each end.

Endless – single piece of webbing joined together and stitched together via a seam.

Duplex and Simplex slings can also have different metal end fittings. D type - Non Reevable. DP type – Allows the sling to be threaded through the metal fitting, generally for choke lifting.

Multi Leg Slings – Lifts large objects with multiple lifting points. Can be made using either with Round or Webbing Slings. Variety of end fitting and hooks to suit every application. Variety of Sling Length and working load limits.

Wide Bodied or belly slings These are designed for use in basket hitch where a wide sling is needed for load stability anywhere width is re-quired for proper handling of fragile or highly finished surfaces. Eyes of slings are tapered to fit on hoist or crane hooks and are reinforced to provide increased durability.

Web Slings

Flat Webbing Sling with Soft Eyes these types of slings are generally known as either a Simplex or Duplex Web sling. We manufacture webbing slings from 100% heavy duty polyester webbing and are able to produce each sling with the following specifications—

Width—25mm up to 600mm widths.

Capacity—250 kg up to 40 ton.

Colour—according to tonnage and EN Standard. Safety Factor 7—1 Polyester webbing have many advantages over equivalent chain or steel wire rope slings, particularly

where the item to be lifted is in danger of being marked or damaged in the lifting process. The slings

flexibility and ease of handling are appreciated by those involved in the lifting process and the wide

load-bearing surface aids safer lifting.

Simplex and Duplex webbing slings are woven from high strength polyester yarn which has good shock absorption properties with a high strength to weight ratio. All slings are manufactured in accordance with the current international standards. Polyester slings are suitable for use in temperature range - 40 degree 'C' to 100 degree 'C' and are resis-tant to moderate strength acids. Do not use in alkali conditions. Seek the advice of the manufacturer if exposure to chemicals is likely Instructions on the care and safe use of textile lifting slings are available on request and issued with each consignment. Wear sleeves are a recommended optional extra. All slings are Colour coded for increased safety and can be checked against our wall charts.

All slings are manufactured in accordance with the current international standards. Each sling has a durable tag permanently attached. This tag contains load capacities and all information

currently required by the various regulatory agencies.

Lightweight—easy to handle, store and clean.

• Resistant to ultraviolet light, rot and mildew.

• 3% elongation.

Maximum temperature exposure 180°F.

• No loss of strength in water.

• Soft and pliable. Conforms to load.

Web Slings

Labelling—Each label will be blue—as an indication of polyester. The label will be the same for all lifting slings—only the standard will change. The label will be encased in a clear plastic sleeve to ensure that the sling and its label ensures a long service life. All Plum-Alti web slings manufacture to EN 1492-1 require the label following information: WLL = Working Load Limit (in tons), load capacity relating to the angle of lift.
