CU.

To clearly show his emotional reaction and his shock and despair

central placement – character is totally the focus of frame – all about his emotion

and experience. Camera is at eyeline level for audience to identify with character.

MCU – Camera at eye level

Shot/Reverse Shot – Eyeline Match – Over the shoulder shot

Rule of Thirds – Character is on the left of the screen with lots of look room even though she is basically front on

Audience can see the tension between these characters

Subject looks powerless, small, weak

Shows the abyss he’s falling into, his hopelessness and the enormity of the
