2.4 House Keeping

House keeping is reserved for general code tidying which may provide minor improvements in efficiency or cosmetic changes that do not relate to issues resolved nor add new functionality.

3. Trust Implementation Issues

This section details issues which must be addressed by the Trust before a release or, where they are for issues which are only by request, before a particular feature is activated.

3.1 Standard issues:

228026 - Dictation BeepRequired Trust Action: Inform users that the dictation sounds will once again be played unless turned off in XR settings.

224832 - Create referrer links regardless of typeRequired Trust Action: At least one new nurse patient type, along with at least 1 referring location of NURSE need to be created if nurse referrers are required.

227981 - Clearing Data CachesRequired Trust Action: The security setting of GENERAL, REFRESH_SERVER needs to be added to user roles able to refresh server caches

227482 - Assigning porter tasksRequired Trust Action: In order to assign tasks to a porter the porters must be assigned a role of porter in staff setup and their primary site must also be set.

227504 - User dictionary in databaseRequired Trust Action: Security setting VIEWS.DICTIONARY needed to access the UserDictionary table

221770 - Close pregnancy from events listRequired Trust Action: Add security setting to system: REPORT.CLOSE_PREGNANCY for permission to close pregnancies

224956 - FTP of stat filesRequired Trust Action: STATS.UseFTP needs to be set to Yes to use FTP instead of the preferred SFTP

219248 - Configurable worklist table columnsRequired Trust Action: If default columns want to be changed then configure XR setting for the list as required. Give security setting VIEWS.CHANGE_COLUMNS to users who are allowed to add/remove/reorder columns.

3.2 Optional, for issues by request only:

4. Change Details

This section provides further details of each change.

HEAD refers to the development and unreleased testing versions of CRIS. Changes reported in HEAD are either new features not in any previous version of CRIS or issues that have only been introduced or discovered during development or testing of the next release of CRIS. Issues reported in a particular release, HEAD or otherwise, may also be pertinent to other releases of CRIS.

4.1 Billing

225603 - Inflation Percentage on Exam Costs TableReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: mstevenson (Matthew Stevenson)

Description: It would be nice if CRIS knew you were entering a percentage into the Inflation popup box, without actually having to put the percent sign.

- The instructions already say the user needs to "Enter a percentage to inflate" - CRIS puts a default number of 0.0% anyway - Entering just '10' or '20', CRIS doesn't take this to be 10 or 20% and throws an error saying this is not a valid percentage

Would be nice for CRIS to do this automatically, like with many other fields within the applicationResolution: The inflation percentage field is now formatted as required before a calculation is made.

225628 - EXAMCOSTS and COSTBANDS ValidationReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: mstevenson (Matthew Stevenson)

Description: When creating a record in the COSTBANDS table, CRIS allows you to create a record in the table with a BAND CODE of up to 8 Characters.

When trying to select this in the EXAM COSTS table an error is thrown as the COSTBAND column only allows one character.Resolution: Validation is now provided for the EXAMCOSTS and COSTBANDS band code field.

225813 - Billing- 'Insurers' Tab - Delete removes all insurersReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: gglover (Gary Glover)

Description: If an Insurer is deleted, all insurers are removed on reload but info in 'Number, category, valid from and to' is still there.Resolution: Only the required insurer is deleted from a patient's list of insurers.

227211 - Get Policy Costs function button does not appear to be working as expectedReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: mstevenson (Matthew Stevenson)

Description: The [Get Policy Costs] function button does not appear to be working as expected.Resolution: The Get Policy Costs button now forces policy costs to be reloaded rather than using the cached set.

4.2 CRIS Mobile

216348 - Capture graphic tablet input using Wacom APIReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: cturner (chris turner)

Description: Currently the signature recognition soft form component depends on setting up the tablet to limit input only to the area of the screen where the component will be.

Much tighter and more flexible integration could be achieved by using the Wacom api to capture tablet input and pass it directly to the drawing component. This would allow the component to be used in multiple positions in the application and prevent input spilling over into the rest of the app.Resolution: Softform Draw panels can pick up input from wacom pen tablets.

4.3 Dashboard

224757 - Unverified DashBoard widget prevents CRIS from starting if the user does not have a clinician codeReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: mstevenson (Matthew Stevenson)

Description: If a clinician user has the Unverified Reports widget open, and the clinician code is removed from the user, then CRIS will no longer start due to an exception when creating the widget.

Additionally, this widget is available for non clinicians to add but can not be added due to the same exception.Resolution: The 'Unverified' dashboard widget is now excluded if the user does not have a clinician code.

4.4 Database

231297 - Updating user_id field of hdsuse table.Reported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: pkiernan (Patrick Kiernan)

Description: Currently when anything on a staff record is changed, the update to the hdsuse table updates the user_id field. This field can never actually change and should not be included in the update statement, only in the initial insert.Resolution: The user id field of the HDSUSE table is no longer included in update statements, only in an initial insert on the staff table.

4.5 Diary

224331 - Use hints for diary queriesReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 2.09.10d, 2.09.10e Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: When loading the diary some days load much slower than others. Examining the Oracle execution plan for these 'slow dates' shows that Oracle is choosing to perform a full table scan on the patient table, and also sometimes on the events and status tables.Resolution: A hint has been added to the database query that loads examinations for the diary. This may improve diary performance in some cases.

231087 - Diary search forward error with exams not allowed in same roomReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e, 2.09.10d.5 Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: Using search forward cannot seem to book an event with 2 different exams that are not allowed in the same room at the specified site.Resolution: Search Forward now works as expected with exams that can only be performed in different rooms.

228110 - Diary Issue - Cannot have more than 4 sites buttons displayed at one timeReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: mstevenson (Matthew Stevenson)

Description: Create room for more buttons by continuing across the top. This will make the date/time area slightly smaller.Resolution: The diary is now capable of displaying multiple site buttons at any one time.

231121 - Saving typed changes in appointment diary using search forwardReported in: 2.07.12 Fixed in: 2.09.10d.4, 2.09.10e Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: The ability to type and save changes to the fields displayed for the event and exam on the appointment diary in the bottom right section does not work if you have the XR setting GENERAL.ForceReloadOnListSelect turned on and you use search forward.Resolution: It is now possible to make changes to the exam code in the diary and use the search forward button to make the appointment for the amended exam code even when the GENERAL.ForceReloadOnListSelect setting is set to yes.

231031 - Diary Search Forward problems with rooms at other sitesReported in: Fixed in: 2.09.10e, 2.09.10d.4 Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: Search Forward can take a long time to complete and not book the correct length of slots when different sites have different exams lengths configured in ExamsPerHospital.Resolution: When using Search Forward, exams are now booked for the correct length of time depending on site and the diary is no longer blocked for periods of up to 2 minutes.

231092 - Diary can become blocked when using search forwardReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 2.09.10e, 2.09.10d.4 Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: When using right click on exam and search forward in the Diary, the application can become completely blocked.

This is because search forward starts a new thread that calls some Swing methods outside of the AWT event thread, and both threads are trying to obtain the same lock, deep within the Swing internals.Resolution: The Diary is no longer at risk of becoming blocked when using the right-click Search Forward action.

231097 - Incorrect examinations displayed in diary after search forwardReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10d.4, 2.09.10e Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: Sometimes the wrong examination is displayed as though selected in the diary view and exam details after performing a search forwardResolution: Incorrect examination details should no longer be shown in the diary when using search forward after focusing the examination details on a previous event.

230665 - Search ForwardReported in: 2.07.12 Fixed in: 2.09.10e, 2.09.10d.4 Resolved by: mcarter (Mick Carter)

Description: The Search Forward option does not work if you use it by right clicking on the exam in the scratchpad.

However if you use the Search Forward Button below the calender, it works fine.Resolution: Now the right click "Search Forward" menu option on events in the diaries scratch pad uses the same method as the "Search Forward" button under the calendar on the diary.Incident No. CSC 547190 Problem No. CSC PR548914

206696 - Appointment Load diary data efficiency.Reported in: 04.12 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: When CRIS loads the diary data it does a query for all the exams booked on a certain date at the hospital concerned. This could be made more efficient and only load the exams that are for the rooms that will be displayed.Resolution: The diary now only loads appointments for the displayed rooms. This should make the diary quicker to refresh.

222050 - Appointment searching time validationReported in: N/A Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: gglover (Gary Glover)

Description: The appointment diary has never warned the user if the appointment they have booked is in the past. Also using the search forward function does not check if the date and time the user tells it to start searching from and hence the appointment time found is in the past.Resolution: Whichever way a user tries to make an appointment, if the required appointment has a booking date in the past or the booking time for the current day has passed, the request will be rejected and an appropriate message displayed.

227216 - Hover help incorrectly displays closed time range in diaryReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: mstevenson (Matthew Stevenson)

Description: In the diary, if you use 'Room Close Time Range'- the hover help at the top of the screen is confusing as it shows e.g 'Closed 0.0 - 0.1' not the actual time the room is closed- So for a closed time range of 0900 - 1000 it will display 'Closed 0.0 - 0.1'.Resolution: Hover help is now formatted correctly when a time range is closed within the diary.

219247 - Stop and save unfinished dictationReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: ashields (Alan Shields)

Description: User should be able to stop and save an unfinished dictation and pick it up again later. The event should be locked for other users for the duration same as if the user was working on it. Another user should be able to overwrite the lock and complete the dictation as required. If the user logs off in the middle of a report or dictation the user should have the additional choice of saving and reserving the dictation. If the system auto logs off the unfinished dictation should automatically be saved. Also a secretary should be able to mark a report as needing clarification by the reporter. This could warn the reporter during verification if they try to verify the report and do not notice the typing issues marked by the secretary.Resolution: When the a user attempts to clear or log out from an unsaved dictation they are now presented with an additional option to save the dictation as partial. The system will also create a report lock for this user against the report.

The partial dictation shows on the event list as the normal dictation icon with a blue letter "P" to the left.

Secretaries may now mark out sections of a report as requiring clarification by selecting an area of text and clicking the new "Requires Clarification" option from the context menu. It will not be possible to verify such a report until all marked sections are cleared (and presumably checked to the satisfaction of the verifying radiologist)

Description: There are a number of tables that are cached in the manager classes. I don't believe these caches are refreshed at any point. There are now a number of applications which rely on the interfaces running in order to work, and performing a restart in order to load the latest data is becoming less of an option.

When "Restricted Access" is set for patient no patient and report information must be returned for queries.

When "Restricted" is set for a result no report information must be returned for queries.

This must be configurable on a per interface basis.Resolution: The flag HideVIPPatients now also prevents records being returned from an event query if the patient is restricted.

If an external event is searched for and the query includes a CRIS number, all local events for that patient are returned. If an external event is searched for and the query does not include a CRIS number, no events are returned.

224356 - Print reports as DICOM SC objectReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: gglover (Gary Glover)

Description: Module to print reports to PACS as DICOM Secondary Capture objects.

Print format will be the same as normal paper print of the report and will as such include any soft- or flexiform that is defined in the report print.

Printing of DICOM reports can be configured based on speciality and destination such that e.g. only Vascular reports are sent or that Cardiac reports are sent to Cardiac PACS while the rest is sent to General PACS.

Note that RIS can not manage and update the report once it has been sent to PACS. For this reason only verified DICOM reports are sent to PACS. Adding and verifying an addendum will create a new DICOM report, it is then down to local procedure whether to keep both reports on PACS or if the old report should be deleted.Resolution: Reports can now be converted into a suitable format to enable them to be sent to PACS via the DICOM interface. This functionality can be turned off/on on a per exam basis within the 'ExamsPerHospital' setup table.

231435 - Case sensitive ae title comparisonReported in: 2.09.10 Fixed in: 2.09.10e Resolved by: gglover (Gary Glover)
