8 th Period Drill and Ceremonies Class The class is voluntary; however, those students wanting to participate

must enroll in the class. Students will be provided elective credit for each semester they participate. The class is designed to provide students a better understanding of drill and ceremonies used in both military and civilian functions and events. From this class, we form our Unarmed, Armed, and Color Guard Competition drill teams. This is a serious commitment to a team. If you have questions about this, talk to one of the instructors or a cadet who had been part of this team.

All students participating in this class must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and a 3.0 GPA in AFJROTC. Any student not maintain a 2.5 GPA and a 3.0 GPA in AFJROTC at the next grading period will be dis-enrolled.

The class schedule will be Monday- Thursday from 1430-1545

Each student will be graded like all other classes on a 6 week/semester grading period using the A-f grading scale. Student evaluation will consist of the following criteria:50% Drill Knowledge Tests

30% Participation 20% Attendance (4 or more excused/unexcused

absences in a six week grading period will effect a student’s grade)

Proper dress is required to include closed toe or tennis shoes. Any students not appropriately dressed will not be permitted to participate in the class.

"You must inspect what you expect, always. If you expect to be early on time to school, you should inspect your school belongings and make sure you have everything. If you expect to be great at

drill, you inspect marching as a team. If you expect to be a leader, you must inspect the qualities you demonstrate to all of your peers.

I expect nothing less of drill cadets putting in 100% effort in this year's drill teams, therefore your commanders will inspect...to

achieve."

Air Force Song:Off we go into the wild blue yonder,Climbing high into the sunHere they come zooming to meet our thunderAt 'em boys, Give 'er the gun!Down we dive, spouting our flame from underOff with one helluva roar!We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunderSent it high into the blueHands of men blasted the world a-sunderHow they lived God only knew!Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquerGave us wings, ever to soar! With scouts before And bombers galore.Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Here's a toast to the hostOf those who love the vastness of the sky,To a friend we send a message of his brother men who fly.We drink to those who gave their all of oldThen down we roar to score the rainbow's pot of gold.A toast to the host of men we boast, the U.S. Air Force!

Off we go into the wild sky yonder,Keep the wings level and trueIf you'd live to be a grey-haired wonderKeep the nose out of the blue!Flying men, guarding the nation's border,we'll be there followed by more!In echelon we carry onOh, nothing'll stop the Air Force!Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!
