BASIC ARTICLE ABOUT ERASMUS+ MOBILITYPOLAND, 27TH OF SEPTEMBER - 6TH OF OCTOBER 2019

Around thirty mostly young people who work in schools or similar

organizations for youth and children, participated in an Erasmus+ mobility

project “Empower the Willpower” in Poland. It was organized in Training and

Holiday Center “Knieja”, near the small town Rajgrod, in Podlaskie province, in

Poland.

Rajgrod (“the paradise town”) is situated on the Rajgrod’s Lake (Jezioro

Rajgrodzkie) and the first written mention of this town dates from 1429. It has

around 1.600 inhabitants, and the THC “Knieja” is 6 km away from the Rajgrod.

The facilitators were young social enterpreneurs Zeynep Gumus from

Turkey and Luka Tunjic from Croatia. As social enterpreneurs are persons who

pursue novel applications that have the potential to solve community-based

problems, who are willing to take on the risks and efforts to create positive

changes in society through their initiatives, they usually use NGOs and Erasmus+

projects to touch the hearts of youth workers and young people on youth

exchange programs.

Seven days in THC “Knieja” were full of informal ways of teaching and

learning about the power of our will, our motivation and self-discipline, and

about the life long learning concepts. Everyone of the participants will be

awarded with a Youthpass, a European recognition tool for non-formal and

informal learning in youth work. It is available for projects funded by Erasmus+:

Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps Programmes as a part of the

European Commission’s strategy to foster the recognition of non-formal

learning. Youthpass supports the reflection upon the personal non-formal

learning process and outcomes.

For youth workers and organisations, they can take part in opportunities to

support the professional development and network of youth workers, including

activities such as seminars, training courses, networking events, study visits and

job shadowing.

In this learning mobility participants had a lot of workshops, they have made

a toolbox about their learning and prepared a cultural evenings for three

countries together where they showed some presentations of their culture,

music, foods, etc.

Lots of new friendships were made and also the possibilities for another

Erasmus+ projects in the future.
