Writing:We have been working on Instructional Writing. This type of writing focuses on step by step detailed instructions with a goal of teaching the reader how to do something. (i.e. How to Make a Snowman).

The format is as follows:Title: (Goal of the Instructions)Materials: (What materials are needed)Steps: (Step by step instructions)Tips: (Any additional information for the reader)

Example:Title: How to Pour a Glass of MilkMaterials: milk, glassSteps:Step 1: Open the fridge and remove the milk jug.Step 2: Unscrew the milk cap.Step 3. Open cupboard and choose your favorite cup.Step 4: Place cup beside milk jug on counter.Step 5: Carefully lift the milk and pour slowly directly into the cup.Step 6: Stop pouring once you have reached the amount you will drink.Step 7: Screw cap onto milk jug.Step 8: Put the milk back into the fridge. Close the fridge door.Step 9: Lift glass to your lips and slowly drink it.Step 10: Drink it. Yummy!

Tip: Make sure the milk has not expired
