Murder Madness

This short film is a non-linear piece because the film contains scenes from the middle of the film, at the start of the film.

Characters:

Clara Stewart- A journalist, who gets kidnapped and then gets into trouble after publishing stories about a serial killer on the loose.

Robert Blair- A work colleague of Clara’s, who wants to fond out about Clara’s disappearance.

Edwin Clayton- A serial killer, who kidnaps Clara and tries to kill her after reading what she wrote about him in a news article.

Plot

· Short snappy edits of Clara Stewart being kidnapped by Edwin Clayton.

· Flashbacks to the beginning of the series of events that led to Clara’s kidnapping.

· Clara is investigating murders and murderers to write about in the paper.

· Clara reports them in the paper.

· Edwin, the murderer who Clara wrote about, reads the paper and gets angry with Clara for bringing the murders up in the paper again.

· Edwin starts to stalk Clara, and tracks her every move of the day.

· Edwin kidnaps Clara after weeks of tracking her every move.

· Clara’s work colleague Robert Blair becomes suspicious of Clara not coming into work for the past few days, as she’s never missed a day of work for as long as he can remember, he starts to investigate her disappearance.

· Robert goes to the local police station to report Clara’s disappearance and sees DCI Peter Marks he asks for help off the police. The police say they will help but actually don’t.

· Robert decides that after not hearing or seeing any development in the police’s research into the disappearance of Clara, he will start some of his own research.

· Robert goes to Clara’s house to see if he can find any evidence that will reveal anything to help his search into Clara’s disappearance.

· Whilst at Clara’s house Robert finds research that Clara used to report in the paper about the murderer, Edwin Clayton, it includes where the murders took place, who the people that were murdered were and where the murderer lives.

· Robert goes to the address of the murderer’s house which he found at Clara’s house. Robert finds a list of places. Robert doesn’t know what these places could mean but thinks it could be a break through in his investigation.

· Robert gets a gun to protect himself from any danger he could put himself in to save Clara.

· Robert decides to go the first place on the list he found at Edwin’s house. He has no luck at this place.

· Cuts to the Clara to show you what she’s like, she’s still alive and well.

· Clara’s POV with a bag on her head with sounds in the background which scare Clara.

· Edwin shows his madness over the reports that Clara made in the paper.

· Edwin shows the meaning for his madness over the reports.

· Robert, Clara’s work colleague, arrives at the second place on his list.

· Robert sees a mysterious looking car that looks like it has just been abandoned, he enters the building with his gun to protect himself.

· Robert hears voices from the room next to the one he is in a decides to investigate.

· Robert knocks into a tin bin and it makes a loud screeching noise along the ground, Edwin hears the sound and runs towards where the noise came from.

· Robert runs to Clara to help untie her and set her free.

· Edwin pulls Robert away from untying Clara and punches him.

· Robert drops his gun near Clara when Edwin punches him.

· Robert and Edwin start to fight.

· Edwin pulls his gun out and aims it at Robert and is about to shoot when…

· Clara picks up the gun that fell out of Robert’s hand when Edwin punched him. She aims it at Edwin’s back and shoots.

Script

SCENE 1

Clara is walking through the alleyway on her way home from work. Edwin is walking behind her.

*Edwin grabs Clara*

SCENE 2

CLARAS WORKPLACE EARLT MORING Flashback to the beginning of the series of events that led to Clara’s kidnapping.

Robert: How is the Clayton report coming along?

Clara: All done now, just finishing up.

Robert: Dotting the I’s, crossing the T’s?

Clara: Shut up. (sarcastically)

(Robert walks away to the printer and grabs the report.)

SCENE 3

EDWIN’S HOUSE LATER IN THE DAY

Edwin reads the report on himself and gets angry deciding he wants revenge on the reporter.

*Edwin rips and throws the paper out of anger* (Angry noises can be heard.)

SCENE 4

OUTSIDE CLARAS OFFICE AT THE EVENING TIME

Clara walks out of the office, Robert rushes to meet up with her.

Robert: Hey do you think you could look a little bit more into these Clayton Murders?

Clara: Yeah, sure. What did you think about my article on the murders?

Robert: It was great, it just needs more.

Clara: I have some more interviews coming up and a few more leads to follow. I will get on it tonight.

*Cuts to Edwin, sat in his car outside Clara’s work

SCENE 5

Repeat of the clips in the first scene.

SCENE 6

*Robert starts to become suspicious when Clara misses work for a few days.*

Robert(to himself): I wonder where Clara is? She never misses work.

*Robert decides he will start to look for clues to help him with the disappearance of Clara*

SCENE 7

AT THE LOCAL POLICE STATION

*Robert talks to DCI Peter Marks.*

Robert: Hello, I would like to report the disappearance of Miss Clara Stewart.

DCI Peter Marks: Hello, I sorry but we can’t start to investigating until the person has been missing 168 hours.

Robert: ARE YOU SERIOUS?! (Robert exclaims)

Peter: Yes sir, I’m sorry you will have to come back when she has been missing 168 hours.

*Robert leaves the police station, angry because they were no help*

SCENE 8

Montage

· Robert starts looking into the disappearance of Clara.

· Goes to her house to look for any clues and sees all the information about her reports on the murderer Edwin Clayton, he finds his address and decides that’s where he should look first.

· Robert goes to Edwin’s house hoping to find Clara there, he doesn’t find Clara but does find a board mapping Clara’s every move for the last month and then he finds a list of places he doesn’t know what they could mean but thinks it could be a break through in his investigation.

· Robert gets a gun to protect himself from any danger he could put himself in whilst saving Clara.

· Robert goes to the first place on the list that he took from Edwin’s house.

SCENE 9

· Cuts to Clara showing you she’s still alive.

· Shows you Clara’s POV with a bag on her head, hearing noises around her and being scared.

· Edwin shows his madness over the reports by shouting at Clara.

· He also shows the meaning for his madness

SCENE 10

*Robert goes to the next place on his list.*

(He sees a similar looking car to what he saw outside of the place he Clara work, the other week. He decides to investigate the building.)

· Robert hears muffled voices in the next room to which he is in.

· Robert knocks over a tin bin and it makes a screeching noise along the ground. Edwin hears this and starts to run to where the noise came from.

 

Scene 11

*Robert runs to untie Clara*

Clara: OH MY GOD!

Robert: Are you ok?

Clara: I’m a lot better now! Hurry we need to get out of here quickly!

*Edwin comes back into the room*

Edwin: SURPRISE!

*Pulls Robert away from Clara and punches him.*

*Drops gun*

*A fight starts between the two men*

Edwin pushes Robert away and gets out his gun. (Evil laugh emits from his mouth.)

*About to pull the trigger*

Clara picks up the gun that Robert dropped and shoots Edwin in the back…

Edwin shoots Robert and then dies

Risk Assessment

Fire Hazard- Use the fire exits in the case of a fire

Filming in and old building- There will be lots of old decaying things and weak objects that we need to be careful of
