Topic-chapter 16 जल है तो कल है
गर्मी की छुट्टियां हो गई थी। कुछ बच्चे बाहर कहीं ना कहीं घूमने चले गए थे और कुछ बच्चे घर में ही रह गए थे। वे घर में बैठे-बैठे ही कभी कोई खेल खेलते, कभी टीवी देखते। एक दिन सलोनी दीदी जो फैक्ट्री में अधिकारी थी, श्रेयांश के घर आई। बच्चों को बोर होते देख दीदी ने पूछा- यदि तुम खेलकर, फिल्में देखकर और कहानियां पढ़ कर बोर हो चुके हो ,तो कुछ नया और अच्छाकरने का इरादा है? सभी बच्चों ने हां में सिर हिलाया। तो बताओ, आज हमें सबसे अधिक किस चीज की आवश्यकता है जो तेजी से घट रही है?- दीदी ने पूछा । बच्चों ने खूब दिमाग लगाया। किसी ने कहा-जीवन मूल्य, किसी ने कहा -माता पिता की सेवा, तो किसी ने कहा- आइसक्रीम। इतने में नन्हीसांची बोली—पानी। हां!--दीदी ने कहा यही सच्चाई है। जल ही वह चीज है, जिसकी हमें सबसे अधिक आवश्यकता है और हम उसे ही सबसे ज्यादा बर्बाद करते हैं। जल्दीही जल संकट आने वाला है। हम अब भी कोशिश कर सकते हैं जल बचाने की,पर मेहनत अधिक करनी होगी। अगले दिन शाम को दीदी के घर सभी बच्चे इकट्ठे हुए।सभी तैयार थे --जल बचाने को। बच्चों! सबसे पहले शुरुआत हम'पानी व्यर्थ नहीं' करने की प्रतिज्ञा से करेंगे। दीदी बोली ।सभी बच्चे राजी हो गए ।
ब्रश करते समय नल खुला नहीं छोड़ेंगे, पूरा पानी पिएंगे व जूठा पानी नहीं छोड़ेंगे। नहाते समय पानी बर्बाद नहीं करेंगे, फुहारे का इस्तेमाल नहीं करेंगे, बल्कि बाल्टी से नहाएंगे और कोशिश करेंगे कि फ्लश में स्वच्छ पानी कम से कम उड़ेलना पड़े। बच्चे समझ चुके थे। उन्होंने पानी बर्बाद करना बंद कर दिया ।अब उन्होंने बड़ों को समझाने का बीड़ा उठाया। शुरुआत पापा- मम्मी से की गई। आदर सहित उन्हें पानी बर्बाद न हो, इसके उपाय बताए गए --दाढ़ी बनाते समय मग में पानी लेना, कपड़े धोकर गंदे पानी से नाली की सफाई, कम पानी मे सब्जी धोना, सब्जी धो लेने पर पानी को पौधों में डालना आदि। माता-पिता को बच्चों के मुख से इन बातों को सुनकर अच्छा लगा। घरों की टंकियों में मोटर के चलते रहने से जो पानी लगातार बहता था, वह अब बिल्कुल बंद हो गया था, क्योंकि बच्चे टंकी भरते ही मोटर बंद कर देते थे। धीरे-धीरे बच्चों को इस काम में मज़ा आने लगा। बर्तन धोने वाली बाइयों ने भी पानी बर्बाद करना बंद कर दिया और जिन घरों में रोज धुलाई होती थी, वहां अब पोछा लगने लगा। परिवर्तन धीरे-धीरे आ रहा था।लगे हाथ बच्चों ने प्यासे पंछियों के लिए मिट्टी के बर्तन रख दिए।वे उन्हें खाली होने से पहले ही भर दिया करते थे। अब बारी थी कॉलोनी के बाहर बने प्याऊ को फिर से चलाने की। प्याऊ बना ही हुआ था। एक दिन शाम को बच्चों ने उसकी भी सफाई की। चंदा इकट्ठा करके दीदी के साथ तीन-चार घड़े खरीद लाए। बच्चे दो-दो घंटे की पारी से वहां बैठते और राहगीरों को ठंडा पानी पिलाते। उनका समय कट जाता। साथ ही वे जल बचाने की बातें भी राहगीरों को बताना नहीं भूलते। सभी राहगीर उन्हें आशीर्वाद देते नहीं थकते थे।

সিংহের হাঁচির সাথে যদিও ইঁদুরটা বাইরে বেড়িয়ে এলো কিন্তু সিংহ গেল বেজায় রেগে। সিংহের রাগ থামানোর জন্য ইঁদুর সিংহকে কথা দিলো যে সে তাকে সময়মত উপকার করবে। সিংহ সে কথা হেসেই উড়িয়ে দিল। পরে সিংহ যখন শিকারির জালে আটকা পড়লো তখন তার গর্জন শুনে ইঁদুর এসে তার ধারালো দাঁত দিয়ে জাল কেটে সিংহকে মুক্ত করলো। কখনও ক্ষুদ্র কে তুচ্ছ জ্ঞান করতে নেই।
অর্থ :-
বেজায় = খুব ক্ষুদ্র = ছোটো তুচ্ছ = হীন

ব্যাখ্যা:-
এক বয়স্ক ভদ্রলোকের পাঁচ ছেলে সর্বদাই নিজেদের মধ্যে ঝগড়াঝাটি করে দিন কাটাতো। তাই ভদ্রলোকের মনে একটু শান্তি ছিলনা। ছেলেদের মধ্যে একতা নাথাকায় তিনি খুবই চিন্তিত থাকতেন। একদিন তিনি ছেলেদের কিছু কঞ্চি কেটে আনতে বললেন। আনার পর সেই সব কঞ্চি একসাথে বাঁধতে বললেন এবং ছেলেদের বললেন একে একে সেই বাঁধা কঞ্চি ভাঙার চেষ্টা করতে। কিন্তু তারা সকলেই অসফল হলো। কিন্তু যখন ভদ্রলোক সেই কঞ্চির বাঁধন খুলে দিয়ে একটি করে কঞ্চি ছেলেদের হাতে দিলেন তখন তারা তা সহজেই ভেঙে ফেললো। এথেকেই বয়স্ক লোকটি ছেলেদের বোঝাতে পারলেন যে একসাথে থাকলে বাইরের কোনো শক্তিই তাদের কোনো ক্ষতি করতে পারবেনা, ঐক্যবদ্ধ ভাবে থাকলে যে কোনো বিপদে লড়াই করা সম্ভব।
অর্থ:-
বয়স্ক=যার বয়স হয়েছে সর্বদা=সব সময় একতা=এক সাথে থাকা চিন্তিত=চিন্তায়

नीचे गली में बच्चे कागज की नाव बनाकर पानी में चला रहे थे। वे अंशको भी कई बार पुकार चुके थे, पर अंशको कुछ अच्छा नहीं लग रहा था। दादाजी ने प्यार से उसकी पीठ पर थपकी देते हुए पूछा – क्या बात है भई? आज हमारे हीरो का मुंह क्यों लटका हुआ है? देखिएन दादाजी, पापा कहते हैं- मैं हीरो नहीं जीरो हूं। अंश ने कहा।
हूं! तो यह बात है। परीक्षा का परिणाम अच्छा नहीं आया। पर तुमने तो कहा था कि तुमने पूरी तैयारी की है। --दादाजी ने नरमी से कहा।
आप लोगों को क्या पता कि परीक्षा देना कितनी टेढ़ी खीर है। कभी अध्यापिका दस मिनट पहले ही पेपर लेलेती हैं, कभी प्रश्न घुमा फिराकर पूछे जाते हैं, कभी पेपर बहुत लंबा होता है, कभी परीक्षा से एक रात पहले बिजली चली जाती है और कभी मैं भी तो बीमार पड़ जाता हूं। --अंश एक ही सासँ में सब कह गया। दादाजी हंस पड़े –चलो, तुम्हें एक किस्सा सुनाता हूं। शायद तुम्हें तुम्हारे प्रश्नका जवाब मिल जाए।
एक बूढ़ा किसान था। वह परमात्मा पर बहुत क्रोधित था। उसने एक सुबह अपनी प्रार्थना में कहा—मुझे आपसे कुछ कहना है—बस बहुत हो गया। आपको खेती का अब सभी नहीं पता। जब बरसात की जरूरत होती है तो बरसात नहीं होती और जब बरसात की जरूरत नहीं होती तो आप बरसाए चले जाते हैं। यह क्या ना समझी है? यदि आपको खेती का पता नहीं है तो आप मुझ से पूछ सकते हैं। मैंने अपना सारा जीवन इस में बिताया है। एक मौका मुझे दे। आने वाली बरसात में मुझे तय करने दे और देखना कि क्या हो ता है? परमात्माने कहा – ठीक है, इस बरसात में तुम तय करना। तो किसान ने तय किया, और वह बहुत खुश था कि अब वह परमात्मा को बताएगा।
फसल काटी गई, तब वह उलझन में पड़ गया। वहां गेहूं थे ही नहीं, सिर्फ खाली छिलके, बगैर गेहूं के। क्या हुआ? इतने लंबे पौधे –इतने लंबे कि साधारण गेहूं से 4 गुना अधिक बड़ा गेहूं आना चाहिए था। अचानक उसने बादलों में से हंसी सुनी। परमात्मा हंसे और बोले, “अब तुम क्या कहोगे?” किसान बोला, “मैं आश्चर्य चकित हूं, क्योंकि विध्वंसकी तो कोई संभावना ही नहीं छोड़ी थी और जो कुछ भी मददगार हो सकता था, दिया गया। पौधे इतने अच्छे बढ़ रहे थे और फसल इतनी हरी भरी और खूब सूरत थी। मेरे गेहूंओ को क्या हुआ? परमात्मा बोले, “क्योंकि तुमने सारी चुनौतियों को टाल दिया, गेहूंओका विकसित होना असंभव था। इन्हें चुनौतियों की जरूरत होती है।“ किस्सा सुनाकर दादाजी अंशका चेहरा देखते रहे। अंशके चेहरे पर निराशा के स्थान पर जिज्ञासा नजर आई।
दादाजी—मुझे बताइए चुनौतियां क्या होती है?
दादाजी बोले—बेटे, जीवन का दूसरा नाम संघर्ष है। सबके सामने कई मुसीबतें आती हैं, उन्हें दूरकर अपने लक्ष्यको पाना ही जीवन है। मनुष्य को परिश्रम करना चाहिए। परिश्रमी मनुष्य कभी शिकायत नहीं करते। वे अपना दोष दूसरों पर नहीं डालते। दादाजी, मैं बहुत मेहनत करूंगा। कक्षा में प्रथम आऊंगा। -- अंश ने आत्मविश्वास के साथ कहा।

Plants in the Surroundings
Plants that grow in one region are different from those that grow in another region because of the temperature, amount of rainfall and the type of soil. Plants adapt themselves to become better suited to their surroundings, i.e. a cactus plant is adapted to live in dry, sandy desert.
Plants that grow on land are called Terrestrial plants. Terrestrial plants are many types; they are: Plants in the plains: The plains are flat large areas of land and generally hot. Most parts of plains receive a lot of rainfall; trees such as banyan, mango, sal, and neem grow in the plains.
Plants in area with moderate rainfall: In summer trees that grow in moderate rainfall areas are full of leaves. These leaves help them to use maximum sunlight to make their food and also to lose water and keep cool in hot conditions. In winter the trees adapt by shedding their leaves to save on food because there is not so much sunlight and the leaves cannot make food. This also helps the trees to reduce the loss of water. These trees are called deciduous trees.
Plants in the area with heavy rainfall: Trees that grow in these areas keep replacing their old leaves throughout the year, so they appear to be green throughout the year and are called evergreen trees, such as rubber and rosewood tree.
Plants grow in coastal areas: Coastal areas are generally very windy. So a coconut tree has a flexible trunk and large fronds (leaves with many divisions) that help them to bear strong winds.
Plants in marshy areas: the soil of marshy areas is sticky and clayey. Mangroves grow in these areas. The soil is covered with water and the roots of mangroves do not get air. So they come out from the soil and water to get air. These roots are called breathing roots.
Plants in hilly areas: plants that grow in cold hilly areas or mountains are adapted themselves to survive in cold conditions. They are tall, straight and cone shaped. This shape allows the snow to slip off easily from the branches and also they have waxy needle like leaves that do not allow the trees to lose their water. They have cones instead of flowers that protect the seeds against the cold. For example pine, fir.
Plants in desert areas: Cactus, keekars, dates are desert plants. Deserts are very hot and very little rainfall area. Most cactus plants do not have leaves as their leaves are modified into spines that help in reducing the loss of water. The stem has thick waxy skin that reduces the loss of water. The roots of cactus plants spread out wide in the soil that helps them to absorb water from a large area.
Adaptations in aquatic plants: Plants that grow in water are called aquatic plants. There are three kinds of aquatic plants: floating plants, fixed plants and underwater plants.
Floating plants: Plants such as water hyacinth and duckweed float freely on water because they have light, spongy bodies filled with air.
Fixed plants: Lotus, water lilies are fixed plants. Their roots are fixed in the mud and broad flat leaves help them to float on the surface of water. Their stems are also hollow and flexible which allow the plant to bend with the flow of water.
Underwater plants: Hydrilla and tape grass are underwater plants. Hydrilla has thin small leaves while tape grass has narrow leaves that look like ribbons. They also have flexible stems that help them to let the water flow easily over them. They do not have stomata so they breathe through small air spaces on their body surface.
Adaptations for protection: Some plants adapted themselves to protect them from being eaten up by animals. For example poison Ivy plant, touch-me-not plant. Poison Ivy plant secret some poison if someone touches them. The poison will make the skin itch. Touch-me-not plant closes its leaves when touched. As a result animals get scared and do not eat the plant. Plants such as rose, cactus have spines to protect them from danger.

सारंश –यह कहानी गुरु नानक के बचपन की है बचपन से ही ईश्वर ही सत्य है उनके मुख से निकलता था और दूसरों के भले की बात वह हमेशा ही सोचते रहते हुए उनके पिता जी अगर जंगल में गाय भैंस को चराने के लिए भेजते थे तो ईश्वर के ध्यान में मग्न हो जाते थे और कभी बाजार भेजते तो उन पैसों से वह साधु, संतों को, भूखों को खाना खिला देते थे उनके अंदर बचपन से हीभलाई करना और लोगों की सेवा करना ईश्वर का ध्यान करना यह उन्हें जन्मजात थी ।ऐसा लगता है ईश्वर के रूप में ही उनका जन्म हुआ था और उन्होंने हमें अच्छे अच्छे उपदेश भी दिए इस कहानी से हमें अच्छी सीख भी मिली है ।

ব্যাখ্যা :-
মালিনী নদীর স্বচ্ছ সুন্দর জলের তীরে ছিল এক নিবিড় অরণ্য ও সেই অরণ্যে ছিল ঋষি ও ঋষিপত্নী গৌতমীর আশ্রম। সেখানে থাকতো ঋষি কুমারেরাতারা প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য ও বিভিন্ন পশুপাখির সাহচর্যে দিন যাপন করত । স্বর্গঅপ্সরা মেনোকার গর্ভে জন্ম হয় শকুন্তলার কিন্তু মেনোকা তার সন্তানকে নিজের কাছে রাখতে পারেনা। সে শকুন্তলাকেঋষির তপোবন আশ্রম এ অপূর্ব প্রকৃতির মাঝে রেখে চলে যায়।ঋষি কুমাররা সদ্যজাত শকুন্তলাকে ঋষি ও মাতা গৌতমীর কাছে নিয়ে আসে , তখন থেকে শকুন্তলা আশ্রম পালিতা।
অর্থ–
স্বচ্ছ = পরিষ্কার তীরে= নদীর পাশে নিবিড় = ঘন পত্নী= বউ

Vitamins and minerals - They helps our body to stay healthy and to fight against diseases. Vegetables, fruits, milk, eggs and sea foods are sources of vitamins and minerals.
Important vitamins are -vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K.
Important minerals are iron, potassium, calcium and iodine.
Fibre - It helps food and waste to move easily through the digestive system. Fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads are sources of fibre or roughage.
Water - It helps all system in the body to function properly. It also maintains the body temperature.
Balanced diet
A diet that includes the entire nutrient in right proportion is called balanced diet.
Components of a balanced diet are -

Junk food
Eating junk food can causes the following health problems –

सारांश–यह कहानी एक गिरगिट की है जो अपने रंग रूप से खुश नहीं था वह हर वक्त हर माहौल में रंग बदल सकता था कभी हरी जगह तो हरा हो जाता लाल की जरूरत पड़ता तो लाल हो जाता इस तरह वह कई रंग बदल सकता था लेकिन उसे उसमें खुशी नहीं थी वह दूसरों को देखता कभी सांप को देखता तो सोचता कि वह कैसेधीरे-धीरे दुबक कर चलता है और वह रंग भी नहीं बदलता उसे ईर्ष्या होती फिर एक दिन वह नींद से जागा तो उसने अपने आपको महसूस किया कि वह जो चाहता है वह वही हो गया वह साप बनकर आसपास के माहौल में घूमने लगा तभी एक नेवला आ जाता है और वह डर जाता है फिर वह सोचता है काश मैं नेवला होता तो उछल कूद कर के अपने आप को बचा लेता कुछ देर के बाद वह पाता है कि वह खुद एक नेवला बन गया है नेवला बनने के बाद वह कूदाफानी करने लगता है कुत्ते कुत्ते वह पेड़ की एक टहनी पर लटक जाता है।टहनीपर चिड़ियाचोच मारने लगते हैं खरोचने लगते हैं तो उसे दर्द होने लगता है तब वह सोचता है भगवान मैं गिरगिट ही ठीक था और वह ईश्वर को याद करने लगता है तभी वह फिर से गिरगिट बन जाता है और इश्वर को बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद देता है कि ईश्वर ने उसे जैसा बनाया वह वैसा ही ठीक है इसलिए हर इंसान को अपने आप में खुश रहने की आदत डालनी चाहिए।

ব্যাখ্যা---- পথে হঠাৎ দেখা সেই কুকুরটি লেখকের সাথে তার বাড়ি পৌঁছায়। প্রথম দিনেই লেখক তাকে তার অতিথি আখ্যা দেন। বাড়িতে খেতে আসার আমন্ত্রন জানাল। কিন্তু কুকুরটি সেদিন আসে না। পরের দিন আবার কুকুরটি আসে। লেখকের পুনরায় আপ্যায়নে সে আশ্বস্ত হয় এবং সে বাড়ি এসে বাড়ির বারান্দাতে আরামে বিশ্রাম নেয়। পরবর্তী দুই দিন লেখক অসুস্থ থাকায় নিচে নামতে পারেননা এবং কুকুরটির ও খেয়াল রাখতে পারেননা। প্রভু ভক্ত সেই কুকুরটি কিন্তু লেখকের সাথে দেখা করার জন্য উপরে গিয়ে লেখকের দরজার সামনে দাঁড়ায়। তখনও লেখক কুকুরটির সাথে আন্তরিক ব্যবহার করেন। জানতে চান নিয়মিত খাবার পাচ্ছে কী না। কিন্তু তিনি চাকরদের কাছে জানতে পারেন যে, মালী বৌ কুকুরটিকে তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। এবং সব উচ্ছিষ্ট খাবার নিজেই নিয়ে গেছে। পুনরায় লেখক কুকুরটিকে অতিথি আখ্যা দিয়ে আপ্যায়ন করেন এবং কুকুরটি লেখকের সদিচ্ছা অনুভব করে তার আতিথ্য গ্রহন করেন।

An atom can be defined as the smallest constituent particle of an element which showcases independent existence. Example: Ne, O
MOLECULE
A molecule can be defined as the combinations of two or more atoms which are held together by chemical bonds. A molecule is the smallest portion of a substance which showcases all the properties of the substance. On breaking down a molecule further, we see properties of the constituent elements. Example: HCl, NaCl, O2
ATOMICITY
Atomicity is defined as the total number of atoms that constitute a molecule.
For example, each molecule of oxygen (O2) is composed of two oxygen atoms. So atomicity of oxygen is 2.In older contexts, the term atomicity is sometimes used in the same sense as valency.
On the basis of atomicity, molecules can be classified as :
· Monoatomic-composed of 1 atom e.g. He, Ne, Ar (all noble gases are monoatomic)
· Diatomic-composed of 2 atoms e.g. H2 , N2 , O2
· Triatomic-composed of 3 atoms e.g. O3
· Polyatomic-composed of 3 or more atoms e.g. P4 , S8
Molecular Formula
It is the chemical formula that gives the total number of atoms of each element in each molecule of a substance.
Significance of molecular formula
A molecular formula provides the following information:-
1. The name of the compound.

यह कहानी एक गुलेल बाज के की है वह गुलेल अच्छा चलाता है उसका निशाना भी बहुत पक्का होता है लेकिन उसके अंदर दया मया कुछ भी नहीं था वह चिड़िया ,तितलियों, बच्चे ,अंडे सभी को वह पॉकेट में लेकर घूमता रहता जहां भी चिड़िया के घोसले देखतातो उनके अंडे तोड़ देता था एक दिन उसका दोस्त उसे अपने घर ले गया उसकी मां बोधराज को पसंद नहीं करती थी फिर भी गेराज की सफाई करने के लिए दोनों को कहा वहां पर एक मैना के घोंसला था जहां पर उसके दो छोटे छोटे बच्चे रहते थे बोधराज ने किस तरह मैना के बच्चे को चील के हाथों से बचाया और उसकी रक्षा की, दाना पानी का भी जुगाड़ किया इस कहानी से 1 शिक्षा मिलती है कि कोई भी इंसान कभी भी अपने मन को बदल सकता बोधराज के अंदर दया के परवाह को देखकर लेखक भी आश्चर्य था कि बौद्ध राज किस तरह अपने आप को बदल लिया था अब उसके अंदर दूसरों के प्रति प्यार भावना थी।

চতুর্থ দিনের পাঠ-‘দুদিন চলবার পর …………সত্যিকারের আনন্দ পাবে।’
এরপর উনিশ মাইল পথ পেরলে লেখকরা পৌঁছবেন বদ্রীনাথে। যোশী মঠ থেকে রওনা দেওয়ার পর আট মাইল পথ গিয়ে লেখকরা পাণ্ডুকেশ্বর পৌঁছলেন। হিমালয়ের মানুষরা রামায়ন, মহাভারতের কোন গল্প শোনেন নি। প্রচণ্ড ঠাণ্ডায় মেঘলা আকাশ বৃষ্টি তার মধ্য দিয়ে গঙ্গার ধার দিয়ে লেখকরা চলছেন। হঠাৎ ওই তুষারের ভেতর থেকে মন্দিরের মাথা সকলে দেখতে পেল। যে মন্দিরের মাথা তারা দেখল সেটাই বদ্রীনাথের মন্দির। সেই মন্দির দেখে অবাক হয়ে কেউ আনন্দেচিৎকার করছে কেউ কাঁদছে। কেউ আবার এরই মধ্যে ঠাণ্ডার হাত থেকে বাঁচার জন্য হাত পা সেঁকে নিচ্ছে। হিমালয়ের চেহারা খুব সুন্দর যারা কষ্ট করবেন তারা হিমালয়ের সুন্দর চেহারা দেখতে পাবেন।

सारांश–कवि सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी निराला जी इस कविता में एक मजदूर महिला का वर्णन किया है वह कहते हैं कि सड़क पर पत्थर तोड़ती एक मजदूर महिला तपती धूप में दुपहरी में बैठी है किसी पर भी उस पर दया नहीं आ रही है। मजदूर प्रतिकूल परिस्थितियों में भी अपना काम पूरी लगन और निष्ठा से करते हैं ।फिर भी मालिक उन पर अत्याचार करते हैं शोषण करते हैं उस तपती धूप में उस महिला का चेहरा इतना दमक रहा था कि कवि उसकी तरफ एकटक दृष्टि से देखता रहा और उस महिला का आचरण एकदम सरल और शुद्ध हैउसके प्रति कवि काफी सम्मान दिखाता है।

Formula of a compound
A formula of a compound or molecular formula denotes the number of atoms of each element in a compound.
Writing the chemical formula
Step 1 – write each symbols of the elements with valency .
Step 2 – interchange the valencies
Step 3 – write the interchanged number and hence the formula .
Mixture - A mixture is a combination of two or more substances (elements or compounds) which is not done chemically.
Examples of Mixtures
· Crude oil: A mixture of organic compounds (mainly hydrocarbons)
· Air: a mixture of various gases like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, argon, neon, etc.
· Ink: A mixture of coloured dyes.
· Gunpowder: A mixture of sulfur, potassium nitrate and carbon.
Mixtures are two types Homogeneous Mixtures and Heterogeneous mixtures.
Homogeneous Mixtures: A Homogeneous mixture has a uniform composition of its components throughout its mass. It does not have visible boundaries of separation between the various components. For example a sugar solution or a salt solution.
Heterogeneous Mixtures: A Heterogeneous mixtures does not have a uniform composition throughout its mass also it has visible boundaries of separation between various components. For example mixture of sand and water.

শ্রমিক শ্রেণীর হীনম্মন্যতা ঘুচে গিয়ে তাদের বুকে বাইরের খোলা বাতাস আসুক , তারা যেন সমগ্র জগতের সাথে একাত্ম হতে পারে। উচ্চ নীচ ভেদাভেদ ঘুচে গিয়ে যেন সকলের মধ্যে এক মিলনেরধ্বনি বাজে। একের দুঃখে , বেদনায় যেন সকলে তার পাশে থাকে । একের অপমান যেন সকলের বুকে অপমান স্বরুপ বাজে। সমস্ত দীনতা হীনতা দূরে সরিয়ে মহামানবের উত্থান হবে। সেদিন ঈশ্বরের মুখে থাকবে শান্তির হাসি আর অশুভ শক্তির দিন শেষ হবে।

Hydrogen with symbol H and atomic number 1, with a melting point at -259.20C and a boiling point at -252.80 C is a colourless, odourless gas formed by diatomic molecules H2..It is the first element in the periodic table. It occurs rarely in a free state because it is highly reactive. It is one of the main compounds of water and of all organic matter and is widely spread not only in the earth but also in the entire Universe. Hydrogen is believed to be one of three elements produced in the Big Bang; the others are helium and lithium.
· When Hydrogen is subject to a pressure 500,000 times greater than that of the earth's atmosphere, hydrogen becomes a solid with metallic properties.
· Hydrogen is slightly more soluble in organic solvents than in water. Many metals absorb hydrogen.
· At normal temperature, hydrogen is a not very reactive substance, unless it has been activated by an appropriate catalyser. At high temperatures, it is highly reactive.
· Hydrogen is the most flammable of all the known substances. Heating may cause violent combustion or explosion. It reacts violently with air, oxygen, halogens and strong oxidants causing fire and explosion.
· High concentrations in the air cause a deficiency of oxygen with the risk of unconsciousness or death.
We will study in detail about the physical and chemical properties and the tests for hydrogen.

Reaction of hydrogen with some non-metals –
Hydrogen burns in air with a blue flame:
H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂O (water) + heat – Highly exothermic
In diffused sunlight hydrogen combines with an equal volume of greenish yellow chlorine gas to form colourless hydrogen chloride gas:
H₂ + Cl₂ → 2HCl
In the presence of iron as a catalyst, 450°C temperature and 200 atmospheric pressure hydrogen reacts with nitrogen in 3:1 volume to produce ammonia gas.
3H₂ + N₂ → 2NH₃ (Haber’s process to make ammonia)

Reaction of Metals with Water:
Metals react with cold and hot water and steam differently:
Metal + Cold water → Metal hydroxide + Hydrogen
Metal + Hot water → Metal hydroxide + Hydrogen
Hot Metal + Steam → Metallic oxide + Hydrogen
Tests for Hydrogen:
· Ordinary hydrogen burns in air with a characteristic pop sound.
· Hydrogen burns in air or oxygen with a pale blue flame and water is formed.
· Redox Reactions – Both oxidation and reduction takes place simultaneously.
· Oxidation Reaction – Removal of hydrogen and addition of oxygen.
· Reduction Reaction – Removal of oxygen and addition of oxygen.

দ্বিতীয় দিনের পাঠ- “মুর সেনাপতি ক্ষুন্নি বৃত্তি, পিপাসা শান্তি………করিয়া দণ্ডায়মান আছেন”
আরব সেনাপতি জাতি-ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে মুরসেনাপতি তাঁদের শত্রু জেনেও তাঁকে আশ্রয় দিলেন। উভয় সেনাপতির মধ্যে বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ কথা বার্তায় দুজনের পরিচয় জানা গেল। পরিচয় জানার পর আরবসেনাপতির মুখ হঠাৎ বিবর্ণ হয়ে গেল। তখনি আরবসেনাপতি সেখান থেকে উঠে চলে গেলেন কিন্তু হঠাৎ করে চলে যাওয়া কিংবা মুখ বিবর্ণ হওয়ার কারণ বোঝা গেল না। কিছুক্ষন পর আরবসেনাপতি অন্য সেনাপতিকে দিয়ে বলে পাঠালেন তিনি অসুস্থবোধ করছিলেন বলে চলে গেলেন এবং তিনি মুরসেনাপতিকে নিজের হাতে পরিচর্চা করতে পারছেন না। তবে তিনি মুরসেনাপতির জন্য খাবার ও শয্যা সমস্ত কিছু আয়োজন করছিলেন। মুরসেনাপতির ঘোড়া ক্লান্ত দেখে তিনি অন্য দ্রুতগামী, তেজস্বী ঘোড়া বন্দোবস্ত করে রেখেছিলেন। যাতে মুরসেনাপতি পরেরদিন সকালে দ্রুত আরবসেনা শিবির থেকে চলে যেতে পারেন। পরেরদিন সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে মুরসেনাপতি মুখধুয়ে খাবার গ্রহন করার জায়গায় এসে আরবসেনাপতিকে দেখতে পেলেন না ,পরে তাঁবুর দরজার সামনে এসে দেখেন আরবসেনাপতি তাঁর জন্য সজ্জিত ঘোড়া নিয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছেন।

सारांश–यह कहानी अंग्रेजों की समय की है इसमें तात्या टोपे अपने सैनिकों के साथ ब्रिटिश कंपनी से युद्ध करने में लगी हुई थी और ब्रिटिश कंपनी अपने गुप्त चरों के माध्यम से तात्या टोपे को पकड़ना चाहती थी राजा मानसिंह तात्या टोपे को अपने संरक्षण में रखते हैं तात्या टोपे उस वक्त घायल थे इसीलिए उन्होंने अपनी मंत्री मानसिंह को तात्या टोपे की सारी जिम्मेदारी दी। मानसिंह ने अपनी पूरी भक्ति निष्ठा से तात्या टोपे की मदद की और उसकी जगह किसी और को ब्रिटिश सरकार के पास भेज दियाऔर तभी तात्या टोपे जी को इस बात की भनक लग गई कि मानसिंह विक्रम सिंह दोनों ने मिलकर किसी और को उनकी जगह भेज दिया है और उसने रे की हत्या हो गई इस आत्मग्लानि से वह जीना नहीं चाहते थे ।उन्होंने राजा मानसिंह को कहा यह कलंक लेकर मैं जी नहीं पाऊंगा मैं खुद आत्मसमर्पण कर देता हूं तभी राजा मानसिंह और विक्रम सिंह ने मिलकर उनको समझाया की उन्हें इस देश की जरूरत है ।आज उन जैसे सैनिकों की वजह से हमारा देश आजाद हो पाएगा फिर भी तात्या जी ने कहा अब तक मैं अपने लिए जीता रहा हूं अब मैं उसके और देश के लिए जिऊंगा ।

দ্বিতীয় দিনের পাঠ – সবচেয়ে মজার কথা হল ক্লাসের সবচেয়ে শান্ত ছেলে ছিল আশু। এই আশুর নামকরন করেছিলেন শিবনাথ পণ্ডিত। আশুর নাম হল- ‘গিন্নি’। আশুর নামকরণের পিছনে একটি কারন আছে। আশু খুব সাদাসিধে, ক্লাসে কারোর সাথে বেশি কথা বলত না মিশত না। পড়াশোনায় মনোযোগী ছিল। একদিন গ্রহণের ছুটির কারনে বৃষ্টির সময় আশু তাদের গাড়ি বারান্দায় বোনের সঙ্গে পুতুলের বিয়ে বিয়ে খেলছিল। পুতুলের বিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য পুরোহিতের প্রয়োজন কিন্তু পুরোহিতের খোঁজ নেই। সেদিন বৃষ্টির সময় একজন ব্যক্তি আধভেজা অবস্থায় তাদের বারান্দায় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে আশুর বোন তাঁকেই বিয়ের পুরোহিত হওয়ার অনুরোধ করে। কিন্তু চোখ পড়তেই আশু লজ্জায় ও ভয়ে বাড়ীর ভেতরে চলে যায়। কারন ওই ব্যক্তি হলেন আশুর পাঠশালার ভয়ংকর শিবনাথ পণ্ডিত। এই ঘটনার পর থেকেই আশুর নামকরণ হয়েছিল ‘গিন্নি’। এই সমস্ত ঘটনা পণ্ডিত মশাই ক্লাসে গিয়ে বলেছিলেন তার পর থেকে ক্লাসের অন্য ছেলেরা আশু গিন্নি গিন্নি বলে ডাকতে থাকে। বোনের সঙ্গে পুতুল খেলার জন্য এত আপমান সহ্য করতে হবে আশু ভাবতে পারেনি। অপমানে লজ্জায় আশুর চোখ ফেটে জল আসে।

व्याख्या–कबीर दास जी ने हिंदू और मुसलमानों की धार्मिक रूढ़ियों पर गहरी चोट की है इस दोहे में कवि मुसलमानों की आराधना पद्धति पर करारा व्यंग करते हुए कहते हैं कि कंकड़ पत्थर एकत्र करके एक मस्जिद का निर्माण किया गया उसके ऊपर चढ़कर मुल्ला बाग देता है अर्थात अजान की आवाज देता है कबीरदास जी कहते हैं किक्या खुदा बहरा हो गया है जो मस्जिद के ऊपर चढ़कर चिल्ला चिल्ला कर खुदा को याद किया जाता है कबीरझूठेंआडंबरो के एकदम विरोधी थे ।

व्याख्या–कबीर दास जी ने हिंदुओं की मूर्ति पूजा पर भी प्रहार किया है कवि कहते हैं कि यदि पत्थर पूजने से भगवान मिल जाते तोकवि पत्थर ही नहीं अपितु पत्थर के बने पूरे पहाड़ को ही पूजा करते अरे उस मूर्ति पूजा से तो वह चक्की अच्छी है क्योंकि इसके द्वारा पिसे गए अनाज से लोगों का पेट भरता है कबीर की दृष्टि में भगवान पत्थर की मूर्ति में नहीं होते वह तो उसके हृदय में वास करते हैं।

ARCHITECTURE:
The Dwelling House: The dwelling houses were made of burnt bricks of higher quality. The houses had wells and bathrooms and were provided with covered drains connected to street drains.
The Great Bath: The Great Bath consisted of an open quadrangle with verandahs on its four sides, and at the back of the three of the verandahs were various galleries and rooms. There was a large swimming enclosure in the centre of the quadrangle. At either end, there was a raised platform with a flight of steps leading down to the pool. The pool was cleaned periodically. It is supposed to be used during any religious and royal ceremony.
Great Granary: The Great Granary was meant to store food grains. It was built on raised platform for pounding grains and to protect it from floods. Each block had six halls with corridors and ventilation to prevent room becoming mildewed. There were barrack like quarter for workmen. The Assembly Hall: The Assembly Hall was the ruler’s court or used as Municipal office. It was a pillared hall with long corridors. Kiln baked bricks were used to construct the pillars.

Agriculture: Agriculture was the main occupation of the people of Harappa civilization. Wheat, Barley was cultivated. Cotton was found in that age. Domestication of Animals was another feature in that age.
Trade: The people of the Indus Valley had trade and commercial contact with Southern and Eastern India, Kashmir and with other countries of Asia. They imported various metals, precious stones and other things. They carried on trade with Egypt and Crete. Harappa seals were found in Bahrain, Mesopotamian cities. This concluded their extensive oversea trade. They used weight and measures were used in business transaction. Bullock carts were the chief means of conveyance.

Today let us start with Factors affecting market demand:
Determinants of Market demand: Market demand refers to the total quantity of a commodity that all the households buy at a particular price during a period of time. Hence all the factors that determine the individual demand also affects the market demand.
1. Population: Increase in population increases the demand or vice-versa. Market demand for so many commodities has increased due to this factor. Like the size of population its composition also affects the demand.
2. Season and Weather: The seasonal and weather conditions also have an effect on consumer’s demand. Eg. Demand for woolen clothes rises during winter.
3. Government policy: This can also affect the demand for particular commodities.
4. State of business: The prevailing business conditions in a country also affect the level of demand. Eg: during boom period market demand will increase.
5. Distribution of income: if there are more poor people the demand for necessities of life will be more. Increase in the percentage of rich people will increase the demand for luxury goods.
Now let us discuss the various types of demand:
Types of Demand:
1.Joint Demand: when a commodity is jointly demanded with some other commodity we call it joint demand. It exists when two or more goods are required together to satisfy a particular want. Eg: Demand for fountain pen and ink etc.
2. Composite demand: The demand for a commodity which can be put to several uses is known as composite demand. Eg: Coal can be used for heating.
3. Direct Demand: The demand for such commodities which are directly demanded by the consumer for the satisfaction of his want is known as direct demand eg: demand for food, cloth etc.
4. Derived demand: if a thing is needed for producing some other goods which we actually need is called derived demand. Eg: the demand for workers in cycle factory is a derived demand because these workers will be helpful in the production of cycles whose demand is direct.
5. Competitive demand: when two commodities are close substitutes for each other an increase in the quantity demanded of one of them will reduce the demand for the other. Eg: an increase demand for coffee might reduce the demand for tea.

Explanation:
Sibia’s mother and her friends spend their time fetching paper grass in exchange for a little sum of money. The women with their sickles move towards the hillside in a noisy chatter so as to frighten off the crocodiles. They busy themselves the entire day gathering paper grass. By the time the women leave the place, Sibia is left behind. She decides to return home after loitering around for sometime. When she gets halfway through, a Gujjar woman carrying vessels to fetch water from the river is attacked by the crocodile lying on wait. The crocodile lunges at the unsuspecting woman and begins ripping her leg apart. Sibia comes to the rescue and, as an example of the daily jungle heroism; she drives the hayfork right into the eye of the crocodile and the bloody reptile reteats. Sibia then drops the fainting woman to her Gujjar camp, goes back to the crime scene to collect her belongings and in the process finds a blue bead (actually the neck of a broken glass bottle) and is spellbound by wonder.

How many pairs of coloured objects can be made from these two sets? Proceeding in a very orderly manner, we can see that there will be 6 distinct pairs as given below: (red, b), (red, c), (red, s), (blue, b), (blue, c), (blue, s). Thus, we get 6 distinct objects Let us recall from our earlier classes that an ordered pair of elements taken from any two sets P and Q is a pair of elements written in small brackets and grouped together in a particular order, i.e., (p,q), p ∈ P and q ∈ Q . This leads to the following definition:Definition : Given two non-empty sets P and Q. A relation R from a non-empty set A to a non-empty set B is a subset of the cartesian product A × B. The subset is derived by describing a relationship between the first element and the second element of the ordered pairs in A × B. The second element is called the image of the first element.Domain: The set of all first elements of the ordered pairs in a relation R from a set A to a set B is called the domain of the relation R.Range: The set of all second elements in a relation R from a set A to a set B is called the range of the relation R. He is welcomed joyously by his family but the girl of dreams seems to have outgrown him due to his rheumatism. The girl and her mother decry Salvatore’s inability to function like a healthy man and end their engagement.
Disappointed but still not bitter, Salvatore accepts fate’s course patiently. His mother insists that he should marry Assunta, an older woman who is smitten with him. Even though he does not love Asssunta or find her attractive, he agrees to the marriage.
The couple begins a love-filled marriage which gives them two sons. For work, Salvatore begins to fish during the day. He never complains about his problems or regrets about things that he never got. He showers his wife and kids with love and all his attention. He dedicates his energy in his work and is able to flourish in it.
The entire story is a simple but beautiful lesson about building a life of dignity, honesty and love. Salvatore never criticizes others or his misfortunate for his troubles. He rather learns to accept the circumstances and work with care and compassion toward a better and happier solution.
