Fresher’s party/cultural programme at Department Report

MA English 3rd semester students of the Department threw a massive fresher’s party for the new batch of students (1st semester) on 29/12/2018.Students made performances/recited poetry and offered a flowery welcome to the new batch of the Department. Director North Campus, Professor Irshad Ahmad Wani, Coordinator Department of English, Dr Mohammad Ameen Parray and other teachers of the Department ,Miss Sheema Lateef ,Miss Ishrat Fatima ,Miss Sana Qazi ,Mr Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat and Miss Nida Zehran also spoke on the occasion. Director North Campus appreciated the students for organizing the event and emphasized on “having more and more creative events at the Department for honing life skills of the students and making them capable, humane and resourceful citizens of the world.”Dr Mohammad Ameen Parray appreciated the students for their efforts in organizing the event and wished to see them growing and evolving as gifts of Kashmir University for the whole human race. The event ended with note of thanks presented by Zubair Ahmad and presentation of gifts to teachers of the Department by the students of 1st semester.

2. Dr Masoodi delivers extension lecture at PG Department of English

July25, 2018. Dr Masoodi, veteran Medical Practioner and author of Bumpy Roads, delivered an extension lecture at the Department.Dr Masoodi talked in detail about those environmental factors that cause illnesses to human body. He emphasized on the need of excessive use of fast foods and urged the students to develop a healthy life style for living a healthy and safe life .Dr Massodi received questions from students and staff regarding different health issues in Kashmir.Dr Mohammad Ameen

March 17, 2018. PG Department of English ,North Campus ,University of Kashmir ,scholar ,Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh ,working under the supervision of Dr Mohammad Ameen Parray ,presented a paper titled “ Muslim Stereotypes in Hollywood Movies : A Study of Select Movies” in a two day International seminar organized by Amar Singh College ,Srinagar. The Director North campus ,Professor Irshad Ahmad Wani ,appreciated the scholar and urged all the scholars of the Campus to engage themselves in knowledge production and scholarship.
