PurposeTo give students practice making sentences with It is + adj + infinitive. This

game could be used as a warmer the week before the final exam.

Preparation1. Make four sets of photocopies of the question sheets.

Print out one copy of the pictures.2. Color code each question sheet BEFORE cutting up the strips.

Highlight all the numbers on one sheet the same color.Do the same with the other three sheets, using a differentcolor for each sheet.

3. Cut up the strips for the first sheet and paperclip them together.Do the same with the other three sheets.

4. Mix up the order of the strips in each group, so that each group will be working on a different question at the same time. (This keeps students from cheating.)

5. Tape up the twelve pictures around the room in different locations.

Procedure

1. Divide the students in your class into four teams.2. Place the four piles of color coded strips on your desk at the front of the room.

3. One student from each group comes up to the teacher’s desk and gets a question strip.

4. The student then goes back to the group and reads the question to the group. The same student then leaves the strip on the desk and goes looking for the correct picture.

5. Once the student has found the correct picture with the answer, he/she returns to the group and shares the answer. The group then works together to write a sentence.

6. A different student then brings the strip up to the teacher’s desk to be checked by the teacher. If there are any mistakes, the teacher can give a hint as to what the mistake is, and send the student back to their group to correct.

7. When a question is answered correctly, the teacher hands the student the next question strip for their group.

Variations1. These pictures could be shown in a Power Point slide show, with each

team given a certain amount of time to write one sentence for each slide.
