Today’s issue of the OASIS is all about this dead beat world we live in and the friendships

people are making in the OASIS gaming world in an effort to escape it. It is the year 2044

and Global Warming is worse than ever. We have read of the weather changing over the

years, and we have learned that the weather had changed significantly from 2010-2020, with

less snow in the winters, higher temperatures, and rain droughts for years at a time. In the

early 2000s, people loved living in the suburbs and would often leave the city, opting for a

spacious home rather than a cramped apartment. But now, everyone is fleeing to their

nearest city in order to gain faster internet access so that they can fall into their beloved

OASIS getaway. Gas is hard to come by and those of us who have it save it by any means

possible. The stock market crash in 2008 screwed up our economy, and even though several

presidents have tried to dig our economy out of the ground, it ended up being buried six-

feet-under with an epitaph that read “Here lies the future; good luck my friends.”

If you haven’t followed the trend and flocked to your nearest city, now is the time to do so. This is no longer a time of luxury where you

can choose where you want to live because that is what you prefer. This is a time of necessity and survival; there is no longer room for

what you want. The OASIS is a great place to meet people around the world who are going through the same problems as you are, so

create an avatar and start a new life for yourself today! Just because we are all in a low place right now, this doesn’t mean we have to
