6) Financial ReportA. Kelly Needs someone to look over financials for the year. Andrea

volunteered her husband.

B. Andi will send out information to parents about the Treasurer posi-tion that needs to be filled. A Job description will be added to the in-formation.

C. Financial Transactions/Status to date:• PAA General Account Balance: $11,211.19• Casino Account Balance: $42,615.00• Float: $100.00• Total Funds Available: $53721.53

7) Committee ReportsA. Casino: Theresa Chan• Have not heard any news. Theresa will call AGLC to see if dates have

come out yet

B. Social Committee• Sandra Letendre has joined the Social Committee• Valentine’s dance will be February 7th, 2020. The DJ is booked as

well as two photo booths. We have tables and chairs ordered from the school board. We talked about options for the glow bar.

• Barbecue will be May 22nd, 2020.

• Last month the social committee made pies for the staff for staff ap-preciation.

C. Fundraising Committee- Andrea Carter• Spellathon will be January 17th, 2020. Children will need to get

pledges. Teachers will provide the words. Children may study the words. People may pledge per word or make a general donation. Day of test children will go home with the amount they need to collect. There will be prizes for children who can get the most donations/pledges.

• Mabel’s Labels has started. E-mail will go home in November News-letter.

D. Hot Lunch• We will use revenue from Hot lunch for Fun Day lunches like years

previous.

E. Yearbook• We sold 161 copies- that is an increase from last year

F. Playground• Andi made a call and discovered its not true that the city will replace

the playground. We will need to have the Willowby community on board to replace the playground. We will also need permission from the city. We will need to contact the City of Edmonton to see what we need to proceed to replace the playground. Andi will call the city and see if there is any interest in with parents to form a playground com-mittee.

8) Old Business• Bathroom stall Decal- Andi will ask parents on Facebook for inspira-

tional quotes and then have a vote to see which posts will go up in the stalls.

Parent Council General Information – taken from GSPC Minutes Oct. 19th/16

Mission Statement: We the good Shepherd School Council will work together with our school community to ensure the best education for our children in a catholic environment.

· Review protocols on School Council – the Parent Council is an Advisory Role. Staff and Principal make final decisions.

· How to bring items forward – send to Chair before Agenda is set (1 week prior to meeting date), brought to meeting with Principal for approval. Principal approves the Agenda before the Parent Council meeting, once agenda is set it is final.

· Not a forum for complaints, concerns on classrooms etc, please meet with teacher or set up meeting with Administration.

· Items that do come up during the meeting – will be added to “The Parking Lot” – this is for items to be discussed next meeting, if not address between then.

· Meeting Time Line – no more than 2 hours, if going over every-one must agrees to extend “order of the day “

· Positive environment for all attending the meeting

· Fundraising regulation 400 (School Council) project agreed be-forehand.

ii)Yearbook committee asked for $500 to lower cost of Year-books to $25. Pending approval depending on whether it is feasible at this time to change amount charged for year-book.
