I selected this route because it best captures the experiences the park has to offer (wooded areas, the pond, boardwalks, etc.) and is simultaneously the longest trail option at this smaller park. This trail does feature some greater elevation differences, which will allow it to be a bit more challenging. The other trail options were shorter, and did not feature as high of a slope as the Park View Trail I chose. The CASL Nature Walk will start with the entry from Ten-Ten Rd, where there will also be an information table for participants to sign in/ register and ask any questions. I placed the first water station on the trail immediately following a sharp hill in the trail. The second water station is located roughly halfway between Water Station 1 and the end of the Walk. The CASL Nature Walk’s finish line is conveniently located just before the parking lot begins.

This was a fun assignment! Prior to this class, I had not used Google Earth, and the few times I’ve now been able to check it out have been enjoyable. I didn’t realize you could map things out with Google Earth! The features were easy to use, and my work felt easy to save and share. This seems a bit more user friendly, in my opinion, than ArcGIS. Perhaps it’s just easier for me, a non-GIS expert!
