Examples of Uses for hemp

Hemp in ConstructionHempcrete is hemp hurd, and a lime based binder, mixed, creating a lightweight cementitious carbon negative insulating material used in construction. In 2018, Plan-it Hemp established a relationship with MT Tech to research hemp in two primary areas cultivation and construction building applications. Our pilot home renovation project will create more opportunities in the green building market. In fall 2021, Plan-it Hemp will market this home as the first hempcrete home in Montana. Revenues generated from the sale of this home will be reinvested into the company to buy another property to continue product development and best practices while continuing discovering new uses for this environmentally health conscious building alternative. Other upcoming construction products, pressed hempwood replacing particlebroard, Hempwool insulation replacing fiberglass insulation. This is just one sector of the Hemp industry.

Market OpportunitiesUS grown hemp is being reintroduced as an agricultural commodity. US Hemp manufacturers primarily import hemp from China, Canada, and Europe for their product needs. Our engineered processing cutters bridge the gap from farm to manufacturer for US companies to utilize American grown hemp. According to a 2018 Congressional Report, the global market for hemp consists of more than 25,000 products in nine submarkets: agriculture, textiles, recycling, automotive, furniture, food and beverage, paper, construction materials, and personal care. In 2016, U.S. retail sales of hemp products was nearly $700 million, and mostly imported. Plan-it Hemp offers Montana grown hemp to offset imports and create local jobs and careers from farming to production and sales. Our processing solutions maximize the plant’s components creating three distinct target markets;

Density Fiberboard (MDF) applications (CannaGrove & Hempwood)
