The First Annual Diocesan Day of Prayer in Atonement and for the Healing of all those Harmed by Sexual Abuse Mass was held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The Service of Lament as it was called is our Diocesan Church's sorrow, repentance and apology for sins committed.

The Office of Child and Youth Protection vision statement is the protection of children from sexual abuse.

The Catholic church is committed to ensuring the safety of children and young people and providing pastoral outreach to victims and survivors of sexual abuse by clergy.
