Baha Mar ELV Contract Awarded to CSCECEE

On November 7, 2012, the Signing Ceremony of the Baha Mar ELV (Extra-Low-Voltage) Contract was held at the Sheraton Nassau Hotel in Nassau, The Bahamas. CCA Executive Vice President Tiger Wu signed the contract with Mr. Yanfeng Liu, General Manager of CSCEC Electronic Engineering Co. (CSCECEE), which marked another success of CCA bringing CSCEC resources overseas. CCA Vice President Jack Yang, CSCECEE Deputy General Manager Miao Liu, and other project executives and representatives attended the ceremony.

In his remarks, EVP Wu extended his appreciation to the entire CSCECEE team, which was regarded as an outstanding international and professional team, for their hard work and substantial support to the Baha Mar project. Wu said he looks forward to this team making the most out of their MEP expertise and strong cohesive culture to accomplish the project with pragmatism. General Manager Liu addressed the ceremony, saying the CSCECEE team will continue demonstrating their determination and confidence in performing the ELV job with great quality.

Honored as “CSCEC’s Model Project for Internationalization and Specialization with Cooperative Operations among CSCEC Companies”, the Baha Mar project created many CSCEC overseas records, marking a significant milestone of the group’s overseas expansion. Cooperating with CSCECEE, CCA’s project team has successfully built up the self-performing model for the MEP job, which is CSCEC’s largest MEP job to date.

Baha Mar Exterior Mock-ups Approved by Owner

On November 28, 2012, accompanied by CCA Executive Vice President Tiger Wu, Sarkis Izmirlian, Chairman and CEO of Baha Mar, Ltd., the owner of the Baha Mar project, and his Executive Vice President Thomas Dunlap and Principal Architect Michael Hong visited the construction site of the Baha Mar project to conduct a second review of the exterior mock-ups of the Casino Tower and the Hyatt main building.

The exterior mock-ups, upon awarding of the contract, primarily include exterior sliding doors, aluminum alloy railings, and outside thermal insulation of exterior walls. After the owner’s first review, the CCA Baha Mar team actively coordinated among the owner, the designer and the supplier to make necessary adjustments on colors and patterns. Under a tight schedule, the team successfully came out with a new set of mock-ups that met all of the owner’s requests. To assist with the owner’s review on the new set of mock-ups, the project team arranged a crane operator to hang the mock-ups 10-meter up from the ground to emulate the height and angle.

Sarkis and the rest expressed satisfaction with the quality construction work and overall effect of the mock-ups, extending great confidence in CCA and the project team.

The approval of the mock-ups, a new milestone for the Baha Mar project, set a solid foundation for the kick-off of the exterior decoration work. The construction is expected to start in February 2013 and end in June 2014. The project team has started the next stage of design maturity while working on materials procurement.
