Describe steps taken to ensure that the PPG is representative of the practice population in terms of gender, age and ethnic background and other members of the practice population: The PPG has been advertised to the whole practice population by the use of various methods i.e. within the practice using posters, flyers and the flat screen, on the practice website, in the PPG newsletters, on the practice notice board, on the backs of prescriptions and word of mouth. We have also endeavoured to forge good working relationships through Sure Start and events organised by the PPG. The PPG organised a fancy dress Mad Hatters Tea Party and Coffee Time. These events helped to involve the community and make patients aware of the PPG with the possibility of more people interested in joining the group. The PPG have also produced a Children’s Survey in the hope of attracting the interest of our younger patient group. An advert was also printed in the “Mosley Common in Bloom” newsletter which invited patients to join. Our advertising to create a PPG has attracted a diverse membership i.e. carers, members with long term conditions, and both working and retired members. We would like to see more young members join the PPG and have tried various ways to achieve this. Please find embedded below documents produced to show that the PPG are representative of all the practice population: Embedded below is the ‘Mosley Common in Bloom’ newsletter. Details of Boothstown Medical Centre’s PPG is mentioned in the middle of page 2 of the document:
