China Recycling Newell Equipment has commissioned a new 11,000 HP 124 Newell SXS shredding plant in Tangshan, China at ZengFeng Steel.
From Left to Right George An, General Manager CRNE, Scott Newell, Chairman Newell Equipment, Zhou Zhili, the owner of ZengFeng Steel.
This plant is considered to be one of the world’s highest capacity shredding plants. It is rated at 400 tons per hour and is complete with a Newell Metal Recovery Plant (MRP).
The plant is located inside of a large building with all of the most advanced environmental protection equipment.
The infeed conveyor which is fed by 4 Newell Bonny grapple cranes, transports scrap material from outside of the building to the shredder.
Bonny make engine powered and electrical powered cranes that are sold as Newell Bonny.
With 400 plus tons per hour, the downstream consists of a product line that is split so that each line is magnetically separated by double drum magnets and then the scrap goes through a closed loop Z box air separation systems. The shredded steel scrap goes to the stacking conveyor on the left and the ASR goes to the MRP on the right.
The operator has a Newell Smart Shredding System computer control that operates the machine and also provides a lot of management data.
The shredded scrap can be stockpiled and removed by truck or the stacking conveyor can swivel to the conveyor in the back ground. That conveyor goes to a very long conveyor that takes the shredded scrap to the EAF melt shop

The stacking conveyor loads the conveyor coming from the building and transports it to the very long conveyor.
The MRP plant consists of a trommel for sizing, magnets to remove tramp ferrous, two eddy current magnets, a stainless steel magnetic recovery magnet and all of the appropriate air particle collection equipment.
