Through a series of events, a crisis situation has resulted in no funding for the Evangelical

Lutheran Church of Haiti! Until reorganization can occur, the

pastors, lay pastors, and schoolteachers are working without pay. Programs, to

evangelize to a country filled in the darkness of voodoo worship, have been forced to come to a

temporary halt!

GOD IS AT WORK IN HAITI!(But so is the Devil!)

Church attendance in Haiti is growing rapidly. In 1993, there

were 800 Lutheran worshippers. Today, that number exceeds 18,000 and over 14,000 in Lutheran schools.The Haitian people are hungry for the Gospel and Baptism.

They desire to break away from the chains of darkness and the

grip of Satan!We can H. E. L. P! our sister synod in Haiti to continue God’s work!

They need OUR prayers!They need our financial support!

HAITI… is the poorest country in the

Western Hemisphere

- Average income is less than $300/year

- 85% of the people practice some sort of Voodoo worship

- 300 children a day are orphaned

BUT GOD IS WORKING THROUGH HIS WORD AND SACRAMENTS!

There are … 8 ordained Lutheran Pastors, assisted by 120 lay pastors and 150 teachers

… 110 Lutheran churches… 14,000 kids in Lutheran schools
