College History

The New Pilgrim Christian Bible College and Seminary was birthed out of a strong desire to prepare both men and women for ministry. Dr. Charlie F. Williams, the Organizer and Planter of the New Pilgrim Baptist Church and the New Pilgrim Community Development Incorporation, began to lay the foundation for the school while serving as a faculty member at a local religious institution. After surveying the need of those who may not have been able to afford the cost of enrolling at a major university or college of religion, while also making available a college that was affordable and at the same time not being a diploma mill, nor diluting any religious standard became a major necessity in order to assist those who felt the call to win souls for Christ to become better equipped for the task.

In the fall of 2005, under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the vision given Dr. Williams, he summoned Dr. Julius B. Thrower to serve as Dean of Administration and Reverend William T. Chambers as Dean of Students. A Board of Trustees was appointed and other faulty members were added to the staff.

The Fall of 2006, the New Pilgrim Christian Bible College and Seminary’s doors were opened and welcome all Christian believers. At a later date (2016) a satellite college in Butler, AL and was operated under the leadership of Dr. Samuel Duff. We are presently looking for another satellite site in which to teach the Word of God. Since our conception we have held graduations on all levels.

The New Pilgrim Christian Bible College and Seminary is exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

Mission - To provide a biblically based education to the self-motivated adult students with primary focus on equipping them for the ministry to the spiritual and world-wide community.

Motto - "To cut straight the Word of God and entrust it to reliable people who will be qualified to teach others"

Accreditation - The New Pilgrim Christian Bible College and Seminary chose in 2015 Semester to apply for a New Accreditation Commission. Thereby, we are presently operating under the Candidate Status of ACI. Accrediting Commission International, Inc.

Disciplinary Procedure for Unsatisfactory Performance:

Step 1: Schedule conference with Student, Advisor, and Dean after which student may be placed on academic probation, depending upon decision of panel.

Step 2: If, after three (3) weeks, there is no noticeable academic progress, the recommendation will be proposed for student’s withdrawal from class.

New Pilgrim shall admit students of any race to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school, and the school does not discriminate on the basis of race in administering its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs.
