Interdisciplinary Learning: Farming We will look at many aspects of Farming with a particular focus on journeys foods make from source to consumer, their seasonality, local availability and their sustainability. We will also focus on encouraging others to care for their local and global environment. Please email any suggestions to or through Twitter or our Face Book page. We will continue to incorporate active tasks and outdoor learning where possible. What I will be learning in P3 Term 4 2019-20 Successful Learner Effective Contributor Confident Individual Responsible Citizen Discrete Subjects Literacy Listening and Talking We will further improve our presentation skills, as well as develop our ability to find, analyse, understand and use information gathered. Literacy - Reading We will continue to suggest a range of focused reading materials to further develop reading skills. There will be an emphasis on comprehension and enjoyment. We will have a focus novel study, using this to develop evaluating and analysing skills. Literacy - Writing We will provide challenges which will develop skills in vocabulary, connectives, sentence openers and punctuation. We will continue to develop cursive handwriting across literacy. Further to this, we will apply the elements writers use to create different types of texts, for example, formal writing and imaginative pieces. We will continue learning common words and regular spelling patterns. Numeracy We will further develop our numeracy skills through a range of activities in the weekly grid as well as the weekly challenge posted on Twitter. We will focus on addition, subtraction, division, multiplication. These will be following the progression of the Stages of Early Arithmetical Learning. (SEAL). Maths We will continue developing our maths skills through a range of activities in the weekly grid as well as the weekly challenge posted on Twitter. There will be a focus on time, measure and money. Health & Wellbeing HWB0-04a/HWB 0-15a/HWB 0-16a/ HWB0-22a/HWB0-25a/HWB0-27a Focusing on taking care of our health and wellbeing, in what is a challenging time, is more important than ever. Activities will be included in weekly grids as well as a weekly Twitter challenge. We will also move onto the next unit of our whole school Building Resilience programme – Making a Difference. Activities will be on weekly grids, and school website. Content will also be posted on the school Face Book page which will help us to keep connected.
