Mowing Proposal for the City of Augusta

1. Introduction

Blake Landscaping provides quality service at an affordable price. We have the most professional employees and the latest equipment in this region. This makes our company the best possible option for mowing the Route 24 median and sidings, Willoughby Park, and Augusta Memorial Golf Course. For this reason, we have compiled this proposal for consideration by the city.

This report gives a clear and focused level of detail so that you are able to quickly and easily review the important information. We have submitted this proposal two weeks before the due date so that you have plenty of time to request more information from us or ask questions if needed.

The first section of the proposal will highlight our company’s landscaping experience and qualifications. The second section will talk about our experienced staff and high quality equipment that Blake Landscaping uses. The next section will show the estimated number of labor hours and price of mowing the three locations requested. Our total estimated price over the 18 week period is $6,786. The last section will layout the weekly schedule expected from this job.

2. Experience/Qualifications

Blake Landscaping has over 20 years of experience in the landscaping industry. Our company was founded by Jeff Blake, a landscaping architect, in 1980. After working at a landscaping company in Dallas, he decided to start his own company in Augusta. He has dedicated his career to customer service and to the extensive training of his employees. Our professional background and many years of experience make our company the best option for this project.

Our experience with golf courses includes the Town Lake Golf Course and the Augusta Country Club Golf Course. We have served these two clients for the past six years and therefore are very experienced in the landscaping of difficult courses. Here is a picture of the Town Lake Golf Course that we mow weekly.

We also take care of the landscaping for Augusta City Park, Brentwood Park, and Laurel Canyon Park. Our staff is accustomed to working around children’s play areas as well as trees and shrubbery that are usually present in parks. Here is a picture of Lauren Canyon Park.

For the past five years, Blake Landscaping has been voted one of Augusta’s Best Landscaping Services. This prestigious award is voted on by the citizens of Augusta and factors quality of performance, professionalism, and price into the decision. Our employees are dedicated to the satisfaction of our customers, and we continue to win this award year after year.

Blake Landscaping takes safety very seriously and has taken several measures to prevent any injury while performing. In our 20 years of service, we

have never had an accident. However, we are always prepared and take the following precautionary measures to prevent injury to employees and civilians:

We require all employees to wear gloves and glasses while operating equipment of any kind.

All employees are required to obtain their Heavy Equipment Operations License. Employees are trained on how to properly and safely operate all landscaping equipment in a week-long program.

We do our best to provide services at hours where there are very few people around in order to help prevent any injury to others.

We inspect the area for rocks and other objects before mowing. This is to ensure that we do not run our mowing equipment over objects that might fly out and cause injury to someone.

3. Staff Ability & Equipment

Every employee of Blake Landscaping is professional, hard working, and of good moral character. Every staff member must go through a background check and extensive interview process before they are hired.

Our staff has the ability to perform a wide variety of projects. They mow lawns, trim trees and other plants, plant flowers and maintain gardens, build garden structures, and other landscaping jobs. This wide range of skills allows us to be able to perform almost any project that is requested.

We use the latest and best quality equipment. For Route 24, our standard mower will be used, which is a XYZ 1100. Willoughby Park will require a smaller mower, a John Deere x200, an ABC RX300 weed eater, and an ABC 355B leaf blower. The Augusta Memorial Golf Course will only require the standard mower. Here is a picture of our XYZ 1100 heavy duty lawn mower that will be used for both Route 24 and the Augusta Memorial Golf Course.

4. Estimated Labor Hours and Rates

Our employees have surveyed the three requested areas and conducted extensive research in order to form the most accurate estimate of hours and prices. They have examined the number of trees, plants, and structures in each area in order to form an accurate hourly rate for each location. They have produced the following table of information:

The rate per hour is based upon the difficulty of mowing each location:

Route 24 is a simple, narrow area with few trees or plants to maneuver around. This location will be charged our base rate of $20 per hour.

Willoughby Park has several playgrounds and trees, and is therefore charged $5 more per hour for a total of $25 per hour.

Augusta Memorial Golf Course is extremely large and requires much more care and precision. There are ponds, bunkers, and holes to mow around. This location will be charged $32 per hour.

The last column of the table shows the total price. The total amount due per week for all three locations is $377. The total amount for all three locations for the entire 18 week duration is $6,786.

5. Weekly Schedule

The weekly projected schedule will be as follows:

Monday: Augusta Memorial Golf Course from 8:00am-2:00pm Tuesday: Willoughby Park from 7:00am-12:00pm Thursday: Route 24 from 1:00pm-4:00pm

Each location has a specified time and day in order to avoid mowing with several people around. We have the golf course scheduled for Mondays because this is the one day out of the week that the Augusta Memorial Golf Course is closed to the public. Willoughby Park will be mowed in the morning because most children and families go to this park in the afternoons. Research has shown that the least busy traffic hours on Route 24 are during the afternoons.

To ensure that we stay on schedule, we have planned to mow these locations on days where we have no other big projects. If there is ever an instance where a location takes longer than the expected number of hours, our employees will not have to leave a job unfinished or incomplete due to other obligations.

6. Conclusion

Blake Landscaping is the best company to mow the locations that you have requested in the newspaper. Our professional background and high level of skill make us a top competitor in the landscaping industry. We offer quality service, quick performance, and affordable rates. The total estimated labor hours for this 18 week project are 237 hours. The total price for the entire project is $6,786.
