Tour itinerary for 7Days / 6Nights

Day 01

Airport/Negombo (approximately ½ hr. /3km)

Meet and greet by our representative at the Airport.

Thereafter transfer to Hotel. Check in to hotel and overnight stay at Colombo.

Day 02

Negombo/ Sigiriya (approximately 5hrs/ 180km)

Morning transfer to Sigiriya and Climb up to see the famed Mirror Wall and the 6th century rock art. Journey to the Boulder Gardens and Terraced Gardens. See the exquisite frescoes that are approximately 1600 years old.

After completion, check- in to hotel.

Overnight stay at Sigiriya.

Day 03

Sigiriya/Damulla/Kandy (approximately 2.5hrs/ 112km)

Morning visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla, our second UNESCO Heritage site. This famous rock temple dates to the 1st century BC.

Upon arriving at the Dambulla Cave Temple Complex, you will go directly to the Cave of the Divine King Devaraja Lena. View the 46ft. (14m) statue of Buddha made out of rock. Read the first century inscription at the entry of the cave telling of its origins. Continue over to the Cave of the Great Kings, the largest of the five caves. There you will see 40-seated statues of Buddha, cave paintings on the ceiling, and more.

The ceiling and wall paintings found in the Great New Monastery date back to the 1700s and provide you with a unique insight into the Buddhist Revivalist period. See a statue of King Kirti Sri Rajasinha and 50 statues of Buddha.

In the evening, visit the Temple of Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). The Temple of Tooth Relic is the World Heritage Site that houses the sacred Tooth relic of Buddha. The golden roofed temple is visited by both locals and tourists bearing flowers and incense daily throughout the day and night. It is a genuine place of worship. The original dated from the 16th Century, though most of present buildings and Patthiripuwa (Octagon) were built in the early 19th century. You could see Kandyan Moonstone, Makara Thorana, Udamale, Sanctuary, Audience Hall, Sri Dalada Maligawa Museum and International Buddhist Museum. You can also observe Poojas (offerings) the ancient traditions of drumming and sacred chanting in honor of the Tooth Relic performed several times every day.

Transfer to hotel and overnight stay at Kandy hotel.

Day 04

Kandy/ Arugumbay (approximately 220km/ 5hrs)

Morning visit the Kandy Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya. It is started in 1374 as a garden of the kings of Kandy, 147 acres in extent with more than 4,000 species of rare and endemic trees and plants as well as flora from the tropical world. You do not want to miss the Orchid House that has more than 300 varieties of exquisite orchid from the rare indigenous Foxtail and Vesak orchids. You can also see great lawn, spice garden, double coconut palms, cacti, bamboo and more.

Thereafter continue to Arugumbay.

Check-in to hotel and Overnight stay at Arugumbay.

Day 05

Arugumbay

Arugam Bay is famous for its surfing points that attract surfers from around the world. Many of them make Arugam Bay their home during the surfing period, which is from April to October. Arugam Bay Point, which is at the tip of the bay is considered to be an advanced point, where the waves can rise to a height of five to ten metres depending on the swell and oceanic conditions. As such Arugam Bay point is a haven for experienced surfers. The actual ‘bay’ of Arugam Bay is peppered with small cosy hotels. One area of the beach is full of fishing boats as that is the livelihood of the coastal area, but this does not disturb the surfers.

Overnight stay at Arugumbay.

Day 06

Arugumbay/Yala (Tissamaharama) ( approximately 160km/ 3.5hrs)

Morning transfer to Tissamaharama. Spend leisure in the morning at hotel.

Optional – Visit famous Kataragama temple and participate for the evening puja (23km from Tissamaharama).

Day 07

Yala/ Colombo (approximately 270km/6hrs)

Early morning leave to enjoy a jeep safari at yala national park. Yala is the most visited National Park in Sri Lanka and is home to a variety of fauna. Yala National Park is the largest collection of area that is protected in the country. Yala is also considered as one of the 70 most Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka; expected since it is home to about 215 bird species which includes six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The dry season falls between May and August. The Kumbukkan Oya(river) and the Menik Ganga(river) provide a source of water to animals during the entire year, keeping the Park healthy. There are many other animals living inside yala national park where you could see with Sri Lanka Yala Safaris.

Some of important animals are: Elephant, Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Mongoose, Land Monitor, wild buffalo, samba deer, jackal, Jungle Fowls, Peacocks (pea fowls), stalks, Pigeons, Bee Eaters, eagles, kites, Falcons, pelicans, king fishers, Snakes, Beetles, aquatic Beings and many kinds of birds.

Thereafter transfer to Colombo.

Overnight stay at Colombo hotel.

Day 08

Colombo/Airport (approximately 1hr/35km)

Colombo is the commercial city of Sri Lanka. Morning visit the National Museum to chart Sri Lanka’s history and explore the Gangarama Seema Malakaya temple on Beira Lake.

After enjoyed Colombo city tour, you can do shopping at Colombo City.

Thereafter transfer to airport for the departure flight.
