Row 2 Half double crochet to end. Chain 3. Turn. (65 stitches)

Row 3 Half double crochet to end. Chain 2. Turn. (65 stitches)

Row 4 Single crochet to end. Fasten off.

*(Or start with chain 131 to make a nearer your hip length strap).

MAKING UP

Darn in any loose ends.

Find the bottom of the bag by folding it in half lengthwise. With wrong sides together, line up the short ends of the handles with the bottom of the bag and sew along the ends of the handles making sure the handle isn’t twisted.

Pin the sides of the bag front to the long edges of the handle – make sure they are even – sew in place. Pin the sides of the bag back to the other long edges of the handle making sure the top of the bag back is level with the top of the bag front.

FELTING

Put the bag into a hot wash with an old towel. Put it through the wash again if it hasn’t felted as much as you want. Gently shape the bag, put a plastic bag covered book inside so it dries in a good bag shape. Dry completely.

FINISHING

Sew on the buttons and enjoy your Felty Wonky Skull Bag….And when someone points out, ‘cos they will, that the eyes are different sizes, just tell them that this skull had an interesting life.
