LAUNCH SUNDAY: OCTOBER 1STAdult Kingdom Group Classes will kickoff the first Sunday/Wednesday in
October. You will be able to sign-up throughout the month of September in the Commons Area of the GNC or call FBC and get signed up.

o Bible Basics - Led by Scott Coates. He will help you understand how to read the word and have a daily devotion that will help you engage the Word. If you are stuck in your Bible reading or need to start learning how to read the Bible, this is the group for you.
o Kingdom Leadership 101 - Led by Robynn Coates. She will be covering what it means to be a leader and other Biblical Leadership Principles.
o Local Missions - Led by Pastor DJ Dangerfield. This group is for people who are seriously wanting to engage our community with a Mission Focus. This group is not for people who are wanting to relive what they did at their old church or what they heard another church is doing. This gorup is focused on hearing from God in a fresh way and
reading the book "When Helping Hurts" by Steve Corbett.

o Marriage to Marriage - led by Travis and Wendy Jones. If you are interested in attending a bible study with out couples and enriching your marriage this is the one for you.
"MakerFest" is coming ... October 31stBe a part of the "MakerFest" Team - The Christian Ed. Team is looking for people to coordinate publicity, coordinate the "maker" experiences, and coordinate the Outreach. We will be working
with each coordinator. (Remember our decorations are pretty much done, because we saved them from VBS). Contact Pastor Kathy (433-0486) OR Chasity Nelson.
JUST ANOTHER TUESDAYCommunity Feeding Ministry - held the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month (September - May) at Otterbein Church from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. There is no charge for the meal, but a free will donation is greatly appreciated!Each week a different Church/Organization prepares the meal. On Tuesday (September 26) First United Methodist will be serving the meal.
ANNOUNCEMENTSOPPORTUNITIES FOR MINISTRY:COOKS: For TeamKID on Sunday evenings. We are needing people to prepare a snack supper (simple meal) one Sunday a month for about 30 children. The meal would need to be ready at 5:30pm in the Main Building. (funds are available to help with food costs). Contact Pastor Kathy (433-0846).TEAM KID HELPERS: on Sunday evenings - looking for more helpers to help with Bible memory games and music time at 4:30pm AND helpers with TeamKID (6pm-7pm). TeamKID has Bible lessons, fun activities, games, and some craft time. We could use help both in the TeamKID Jr. (3years - Kindergarten) and TeamKID (1st - 5th grades).
Looking and praying for KidZone (Sunday School) Teachers for 1st/2nd grade class. Teaching every other month. Talk with Pastor Kathy if you are interested.
An opportunity to share God's love and grace! Would you like to help call on our church folks who are in a nursing home or home bound? Contact Pastor Kathy for some sames of folks who need some company once in a while!
MARRIAGE-TO-MARRIAGE - If you would like to take the assessment and go over the results just let Derek or Karra Waggoner know. The assessment takes about 30 minutes to complete, per person, and costs $35. If you would like to take the assessment but don't have the money, we can help you with that too! Just let us know!
FREE ON-LINE BIBLE STUDIES: The Church has a subscription to this on line Bible study resource. It's at www.rightnowmedia.org. You may use it any time, any where on any device (computer, laptop, tablet and phone), Check it out.If you are having trouble using it, please contact the Church office and we will be glad to help. When you open up the site be sure to log in (top right hand corner). If you haven't done so already, you will need to set up your account and password. There are some excellent Bible studies that you could use personally or for a small group. SUPPORT GROUP For parents of kids with ADD/ADHD. They will be meeting on the first Tuesday of each month (7:00 PM in the GNC). If you have any questions please contact Erica Warriax at 620-212-9176. The next meeting is scheduled for April 4th, 2017.
THE PENNY PROJECT: The Children in Poverty Initiative - American Baptist Home Mission Societies. Raising awareness. Raising change for Change. Raising 14 million pennies to represent the number of children living in poverty in the United States and Puerto Rico. Our goal is 278,599. So far we've collected 181,021.
During a time like this we realize how much our friends and relatives really mean to us... Your expression of sympathy will always be remembers. Thanks to Pastor DJ and the ladies who prepared and served the wonderful lunch. You really helped to

Parents: please register your child at the nursery desk.On the 5th Sunday of the month, kids worship with their parents.Parents, we would love for you to help out once a month. Just contact Pastor Kathy or let the teacher know what Sunday you can help. (We always need extra hands for snacks, crafts, and bathroom breaks.)

FRESH FRUIT FRIDAY: Cherry Street has started something new this year. In an effort to encourage healthy living, eating, and exercise we are no longer giving out a cookie each day to our children. Every Friday all the children receive a fresh fruit to take home. Fresh fruit can be expensive. Several of our area churches have signed up to sponsor a month of fresh fruit. They anticipate it will coast about $120 per month. First Baptist Church's Fresh Fruit Month will be January.
Cherry Street is hiring a Program Director for the Warehouse Program. The position is 20 hour per week. Starting hourly rate is $11 with some flexibility depending upon the individual's experience and education. They have been very fortunate to have our previous Program Director for the Warehouse program help us start out the year, that that is only temporary.
