PBTOMM User Manual 2. Appearance and Connection of PBTOMM

2. Appearance and Connection of PBTOMM 2.1 Appearance of PBTOMM communication module

(1) Description on PB (green) indicator light: It indicates normal PROFIBUS connection, if the light flickers. It indicates a communication error of PROFIOUS, if the light is off.

(2) Description on MB (red) indicator light: MB will flicker when PB is off (PROFIBUS error). If MB is normally on when PB flickers (PROFIBUS normal), it indicates normal MODBUS data. If MB flickers, it indicates error of some MODBUS data. If MB is off, it indicates totally wrong communication of MODBUS.

2.2 Terminal resistance and PROFIBUS address setting PROFIBUS address of PBTOMM communication module defaults to 03H

(OFF). The terminal resistance of built-in PROFIBUS can be selected by jumper. If it is necessary for change, please open the box of PBTOMM communication module. The schematic diagram is shown as follows:

(1) JP1 terminal resistance jumper selection defaults to OFF. If PBTOMM is a terminal device on PROFIBUS bus, the bus terminal resistance must be set. Jumper JP1 can be ON, or external terminal resistance can be used.

(2) PROFIBUS address can be set with the dial switch. The value of R defaults to 03H (OFF). Bit 8 of the dial switch will not be used. Bits 1-7 are corresponding to Bit -Bit-6. ON is 1, and OFF is 0. If the dial switch is used for the first time, please uncover the plastic film on the surface.

Set Value of PROFIBUS Address: 09H (the black block shows the position of the switch)

PBTOMM User Manual 4. Definition of PBTOMM PP0 Data Type

4. Definition of PBTOMM PP0 Data Type See Table 3-1 for the definition of PP0 data of PBTOMM communication

module. Each black cell corresponds to one 16-bit character.

Table 4-1

4.1 Process data zone (PZD)“Process data zone (PZD)” stands for periodic data access, which can be

used to conveniently control the equipment (e.g. operation, stop, reference and fault reset) and quickly read the actual value (e.g. output frequency and output current).

CW Corresponding to inverter MODBUS address: 0×3200; the inverter “control word” can be selected or not selected.

REF Corresponding to inverter MODBUS address: 0×3201; the inverter “given communication frequency”' can be used or not used.

SW Corresponding to inverter MODBUS address: 0×3210; the inverter “master state word” cannot be changed.

ACK Corresponding to inverter MODBUS address: 0×3211; the inverter “operating frequency” cannot be changed.

CPD1-CPD8

To be selected by the user, corresponding to the inverter parameter (such as given PID)

SPD1-SPD8 To be selected by the user, corresponding to the inverter parameter to be read (such as output voltage and output current)

For the inverter MODBUS parameter addressing and the definition of CW and SW, please refer to the “inverter parameter addressing method” and “list of communication instruction variables” below the “FF communication parameters” below the “detailed annotation of functional parameters” of “Inverter User Manual”.

4.2 Parameter zone (PKW)PKW visits the inverter parameters by means of request and response. It

is usually used for non-periodic access of inverter parameters. PKW can be used to access all inverter parameters. Attention shall be paid to many details. Specific definition is shown as follows:

IDMaster to slave (send) Slave to master (receive) 0-no request 0-no response

1-read request 1-data ready

2-write request

0×80+fault code; the fault code is defined as follows: 0: receive data length error; 1: retain; 2: unreasonable data address; 3: data value out of scope; 4: write data failed (write read only parameter or parameter that cannot be modified in the operation); 5: retain; 6: receive data CRC error; 7: receive out of time

Request ID =1: ignoreRequest ID =2: parameter value

Not used (ignore)

Return ID=0: ignore (value not determined); Return ID=1: request ID=1, return parameter value; request ID=2: equal to the written parameter value; Return ID=0x80+fault code: ignore (value not determined)

Attention: In order to protect the data consistency, the following agreement and description is made:

(1) When it is necessary for re-sending if an error code is returned by the slave station, ID shall be cleared. The parameter request shall be sent after “no response” to return.

(2) If the previously sent parameter is different from this parameter, ID may not be cleared after obtaining correct response in the previous time. It shall be directly sent after parameter modification.

(3) The following agreement can be referred when it needs to judge whether the returned data is the response to this request:

1) “Write parameter” is sent: If “IND” and “value” of the return data are consistent with the sent parameter, it is the response to the parameter sent this time.

2) “Read parameter” is sent: If “IND” of the return data is consistent with the sent parameter, it is the response to the parameter sent this time.

(4) When PKW is used to access the inverter parameters, attention shall be paid to the communication response time. It is correlated with PROFIBUS bus Baud rate, number of PROFIBUS slave stations, MODBUS Baud rate and PBTOW response time.

PBTOMM User Manual 6. Common Application Reference (Control Inverter Start & Stop, Reset and Given Frequency)

6. Common Application Reference (Control Inverter Start & Stop, Reset and Given Frequency)

The inverter start & stop, reset and given frequency can be controlled through PBTOMM communication module by S7-300 with PROFIBUS bus:

(1) Prepare for the “Inverter User Manual” and refer to “Definition of PBTOMM PPO data” and “GSD file of PPTOMM” in this Manual;

(2) Open the box of PBTOMM communication module and set the address of PROFIBUS according to the actual needs; the default address is 03H (it is also 03H when the dial switch is OFF);

(3) Set the inverter parameters:

1) Given master channel for ordinary operation of F0-01: 1: given communication;

2) Selection of F0-02 run command channel: 2: given communication;

3) For communication resetting, F4-0X (X=5 for SB70 series; X=4 for SB200 series; X=4 for SB-HV series) shall be typed in the terminal. The factory value is 13 (fault reset), which shall be changed into 0 (not connected to the following signal).

(4) During configuration in STEP 7, install PBTOMM.GSD file first; then, this module will appear under PROFIBUS DP/Additional Field Devices/Gateway (name: PBTOMM).

(5) Add onto PBTOMM bus, and set its address as PROFIBUS address set in Step 1

(6) Add the needed type of PPO in Slot with reference to the definition of PPO data in Chapter 4

(7) Double click the newly added PPO and make sure that “FF-01 communication data format”, “FF-02 communication Baud rate” and “FF-03 inverter address” in PPO parameters are consistent with FF parameters of corresponding inverter; set “CW parameter” and “REF parameter” in PPO parameters as “use”; add another CPD and SPD according to the actual needs; for the parameter set number, please refer to the table and description behind the detailed annotation of “FF communication parameters” in the User Manual.

(8) Common flow for inverter start, stop and reset controlled by PLC:

1) For the convenience of description, let’s suppose that MW0 is a temporary variable of CW data. MW0 will be sent to corresponding data zone of “CW parameter”.

2) Initialize MW0 = 0×1E in OB100;

3) Set bit0 of MW0 as 1 when the inverter needs to be started;

4) Set bit0 of MW0 as 0 when the inverter needs to be shut down;

9

Page 10: file · Web view(6) Support the data types of PP01-PP05 in PROFIDRIVE, but not support the definition of “master control word CW” and “master control word SW” in PROFIDRIVE

5) Set bit8 as 1 when the inverter needs to be reset in case of a fault, maintain for T and then set as 0; the minimum value of T is correlated with the communication transmission time. In other words, it cannot be set as 0 unless the inverter obtains the data (namely Bit8 of MW0 as 1).
