Art as a Spiritual Connection™ is a new kind of art camp and spiritual retreat experience for children entering 4th through 8th grades. Deeply rooted in contemplative spirituality (living in the moment), the program uses art medium as a ground for a relationship with the Divine.

Camp Format

Mixed Media: combines acrylic painting, collage, block printing, polymer clay and reclaimed objects. All art projects have individual and communal aspects with a spiritual lesson built-in.

Camp Tuition Limited space available, up to 20 children/youth

Tuition per child/youth: $150 (non-refundable)The tuition includes: all art supplies and tools, yoga mats, snacks and beverages.All participants should dress comfortably, and pack a daily lunch with a bottle of water.

Meet the Artist

Fabricia Duell is an artist, mother and mystic. She is the director of Children’s Formation at All Saint’s Cincinnati where she is developing a community of children and parents who practice contemplative prayer, art and justice together. She is also the founder of Art as a Spiritual Connection™ – offering a variety of art programs for all ages. She believes that art is for everyone, and is a way in which we draw closer to God. Her preferred art mediums are: acrylic paint, colored pencils, polymer clay, watercolor and collage.

Friday Schedule From noon to 7 P.M.

Friday’s session starts at noon. Participants should have lunch at home, and bring a bottle of water, plus $3 for pizza at the end of the day. Healthy snacks will be provided. We’ll be finishing our projects and preparing to showcase our art pieces in our “friends & family” art show from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Friday Evening Social: Families and friends are invited for dessert & art. This is a great opportunity to showcase our creative work completed during the week, and to end our experience with a celebration. We invite families to bring a dessert to share.

Spirited Hand is an art studio dedicated to the development of spiritual practices (Spiritual Direction), and using art as a pathway to the Divine. Grounded in the belief that God has no religion, all programs are open to the general public to explore a variety of spiritual practices and interfaith dialogue.
