You will have delegated responsibility for two areas of the team’s work: the continued roll out of the Parish Giving Scheme and digital giving, and the implementation of a project to enable parishes to submit annual finance information online. All this is delivered in reference to, and as part of, the wider Diocesan strategy: Shaped by God. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: - Supporting the team to inspire, challenge and equip church communities and leaders to recognise God’s generosity at work among them, and accompany them as they make a response. - Promoting use of the Parish Giving Scheme (a direct debit method of regular giving); increasing the number of churches participating, and encouraging member churches to keep developing its use. This will include giving presentations to church groups about the scheme and undertaking the administration for the scheme.

PURPOSE:

To work as part of a team of three that is seeking to develop a culture of Generous Giving in individuals and churches across the Diocese of Leicester, and to deliver the 2018 Generous Giving strategy. You will have delegated responsibility for two areas of the team’s work: the continued roll out of the Parish Giving Scheme and digital giving, and the implementation of a project to enable parishes to submit annual finance information online. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: - Supporting the team to inspire, challenge and equip church communities and leaders to

recognise God’s generosity at work among them, and accompany them as they make a response.

- Promoting use of the Parish Giving Scheme (a direct debit method of regular giving); increasing the number of churches participating, and encouraging member churches to keep developing its use. This will include giving presentations to church groups about the scheme and undertaking the administration for the scheme.

- Leading a project to enable and encourage churches to return their annual financial information online by running small group training, troubleshooting and planning communications.

- Promoting digital giving across the Diocese by enabling churches to use card readers through small group training and one to one support.

- Providing administrative support for the team including: managing the logistics and booking system for training events, occasional larger mailings, and data input.

This is a full-time maternity cover post (35 hours per week).

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL: - In sympathy with the aims and ethos of the Diocese of Leicester.- An understanding of Christian stewardship/giving.- Good general level of education.- A good communicator who is able to clearly explain complex information and processes both in writing and in person. - A team player with good interpersonal skills. - Able to be organised and resourceful. - A good level of IT literacy including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. - Able to arrange own transport around the Diocese.- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends

DESIRABLE:- Comfortable and confident in a variety of church contexts with knowledge of church culture and decision making. - Experience of delivering presentations. - Understanding of the different church traditions with the Church of England
