Show and Tell information for Families Over the March Break, students will have the opportunity to compose their second “Montre et Raconte” presentations (Show and Tell) in French. As we have been building our oral vocabulary in class, this presentation is expected to be longer and more complex than the first. Students will be able to choose from several sentence starters and sentence structures that we have been learning in class and which will be posted on the website. When presenting their item, students are still expected to provide some basic information about the colour and size of their item, but they shoud add some of their own ideas in as well. Some idea prompts are: What can you do with the item? What features does the item have? Why do you like it? What do you do with it? They may use the “Montre et Raconte script” provided to help get them started and make sure to add some of their own ideas! Use Mme Myles’ Example “Montre et Raconte” to get a few ideas. For this oral presentation we will be using success criteria for a good oral presentation: In a good oral presentation I will: - Practise beforehand so you can be confident - Use a loud, clear voice - Make eye contact with the audience - Keep my paper away from my face In addition we will be looking at how we use good French language speaking skills : When speaking in French I will: - Use vocabulary I learned and understand - Use sentence starters I learned in class - Practise my French pronunciation Presentations will begin the week after March Break, students will receive their presentation date on Monday March 20 and write it in the agenda. Make sure to bring your object or a picture of it on the day of your presentation!
