FAQ’S

GENERAL INFORMATION

Dancing HIS Dance hosts its first annual dance/mime conference in the Cayman Islands on August 4 -7 2010. The conference caters to children 6 years and up and adults.

The theme for the Conference is Word infused, Spirit ignites, Passion ablaze. The theme emphasizes the importance of knowing or being ‘infused’ with the Word of God while the Spirit of God ‘ignites’ or quickens the Word of God. Participants will learn a variety of dance techniques for praise and worship including the use of props, tambourines, ribbons, streamers, veils and flags. Training will include modern, contemporary, hip-hop and African fusion dance. They will learn symbolic meanings of colours and certain movements. There will also be basic choreography training. A grand finale and closing ceremony will form part of the conference highlight.

The conference aims to

1. create a meeting place where Christian dance worshipers can interact with each other, share experiences, challenges, knowledge and skills as it relates to the use of dance in worship;

2. provide a means of teaching dance/movement that will enhance Christian praise and worship dancing in our churches; and

3. Provide delegates with opportunities to contribute in kingdom building through dance.
