Open an existing PowerPoint file, a blank presentation, or select a pre-formatted template

Open an Existing File
Select “Open” to find an existing file from Recent Presentations, OneDrive,
or your Computer

A New, Blank Presentation
Blank presentation includes a basic content pane.
Select a theme and either standard or widescreen format from Design Tab.

Select a Theme
Select a theme from the Design tab and click on the Variants down-arrow
to see Colors, Fonts, Effects, and Background
Style options.

Slide Master
Select Slide Master from the View tab to create a master deck format with
your logo, copyright, fonts, and format styles for all
slide layouts.

Add More Slides and Change Layout
Add more slides by right-clicking on the slide
thumbnail. Select Layout and pick the slide format
you want.

Adding Text and New Slides
Simply click in an existing text box to add text. Click
the edges to move or resize text boxes. Right click to add new slides
and change slide layout.
Ctrl+Enter also adds a new slide or select “New Slide from the Home tab.

Video directly into your deck. You can also select
the Insert tab on the ribbon for more options.

change color. Select Table Tools to see detailed table

arrangement options.

“Compress Pictures” and un-check “Apply only to this picture” to compress all images in your slide
deck and reduce your file size.
