Eat Pray Love

Page 2: Website analysis

Like the title which is split into three words, Eat Pray and Love - the website has also been sectioned into three areas, displaying photos of each element of the film. The genre of this film is romance, which is apparent through the array of photos used and the subtle pastel blue colour scheme. This website breaks convention as the trailer isn’t displayed straight away, yet in this case the pictures can tell the story through the many number of photos shown within each section.

As Julia Roberts is starring in the film, whom is a A-list Hollywood actress they have included her name within the title of the film to attract fans, alongside with the date release of the film as that is very important in order for the fans to know when the film is available to view.

Below each image is a toolbar with extra information so the viewers are fully aware of what the film will entail. For example there is an ‘interactive trailer’ and an ‘about’ section.Again, this website is breaking convention as stereotypically film websites often only include little information, and feature a trailer yet this website provides a heavy amount of information regarding the film.

Below this there is also a row of widgets which will lead you to external social networking sites such as facebook and twitter. As these sites are fast becoming everyone's main source of information, it is used to build a hype and viewing excitement before the films release. This film gives particular emphasis to twitter, including a ‘tweet your town’ section, which allows you to tweet your own similar stories to this film directly from twitter, encouraging active twitter users.
